Relaxation, Disney Style, PTR. ~*TRIP REPORT HAS STARTED! 9/18 Pg. 155*~

Love your jumble and totally love how excited you are for this trip! :goodvibes You always have the best countdowns. Can't wait to see what you create this time! It's a great idea to remind yourselves everyday what you're working for! Teva mush flip flops are the BEST! I don't know which breakfast Ariel is more likely to be at but I've been hearing really good things about Norway breakfast lately! And I think I heard that if you book later in the morning that you may be there when they switch over and start putting lunch out -- two for the price of one! :) Keep me posted on the camera stuff. I agree the Canon is a bit unwieldy to lug around. I didn't bring it on my last trip either.

Happy planning. And good luck at school next week!! :)

Random Jumble #4
I'm making Marc a countdown,

I can't wait to see this! You have the neatest ideas!

Random Jumble #5
I want a new camera. In order to do this I'm going to have to sell my old camera. If you remember, I didn't even bring my big fancier camera (Canon Powershot S5 IS) to Florida in January. It's heavy and bulky. While I love it and it takes wonderful pictures, I don't find myself using it as much as the little point and shoot we have. I'd like to sell my bigger one and the point and shoot and get a better smaller camera. I really want that new sony cybershot one that does the sweeping panoramic photos. I was playing with it at Walmart today and it is so COOL. I can just imagine all the wonderful Disney photos I could take with it. I have to do some more research though first.

I just saw a commercial for that camera yesterday and I thought how awesome it would be to have at Disney World! How funny!

I hope all your jumbo thoughts come together easily for you! Can't wait to read more. . . . (Hmm. . .maybe we put a little to much pressure on you waiting for more PTR!:lmao:)

#5 I have the new Sony camera....in green! It's a really cool camera with lots of settings.....even one for food porn! I'm not used to the auto focus yet on some of the settings but I'm trying to take pictures of kids that won't sit the least bit still. (Danica's birthday party pictures on FB were taken with the new camera).

#6 Once you get all your blister stuff can you please do a post about which exact products you use. It worked so well for you in Jan.....I might want to copy!

Congrats on the weight loss! That's fantastic for both of you.
Good Luck with school next week.
A Disney trip is the perfect way to celebrate.

And I'm with Heidi. Please post your list of blister products. I am prone to blisters and really need to take preventative action.

I've been working on the countdown and I was getting testy with how LONG it is taking. I had to walk away for a bit. :rolleyes1

I've heard wonderful thing about the Teva mushies and now that I can finally wear non-wide width shoes I've been living it up with flip flops. :rotfl: I have a pair Teva ones that have a heel on them but I don't think they would be great for Disney.

The Canon is just too big. I love it and it makes me a little a sad but I just don't have the extra money to shell out for a whole new camera. If I can sell this one to help pay for a new one then that makes me happy.

I really loved playing with the camera at Walmart. It's so freaking neat!

I hope my jumbled thoughts come together too. I hate it when it feels like my brain is all over the place.

No pressure! I am trying to get out a few updates before school takes over my life and then you will have to be patient.

What camera did you get exactly? Because I just saw the commercial for the one on TV and it seems to look different then the one I was playing around with. I'd love the model name/number if you have it. I saw those pics on facebook and they came out great. Loved the party theme too!

I will do a post about blister products for sure! It's on the PTR update list. :thumbsup2

Thank you! I'm nervous for school. I know that they are passing out TEN books on the first day. Eeek. And they said that is less than 1/2 of them. I'm a teeny bit intimidated for sure.

I will post about the blister products for sure. NO ONE needs to suffer from blisters in Disney.

I love your rambled thoughts!!! Good luck with the camera, I hope you'll be able to find the perfect camera for yourself!!!

I cannot wait to see your countdown calendar that you have made for Marc!! That is so sweet! I'm sure it looks fantastic!!!!

Great jumbles!
We've been playing with our Christmas trip today and I just can't part with the points for the last weekend of the trip. They are sky high, so we are thinking of moving to a moderate before we fly home. I told my Marc it's going to be POR! You have sold me on it....:goodvibes

my favorite shoes for the parks are Chacos. They are awesome. I was pregnant and lugging around a one year old and my feet felt great (relatively speaking!). And they are guaranteed for life. Not just the footbed like with birkis.
And I have ound some great plus sized but down a size clothes at thrift stores and on ebay. I REFUSE to pay retail for sizes I hopefully won't be in for very long.

I thought about the Teva Mushies too but I need good foot support or my feet hurt. However, I did see some recently at Marshalls and they were around 15 bucks if I recall. Just thought I'd let you know! I almost bought them but wasn't sure how much I would use them. I may need to go back. lol.

Random Jumble #2
I have already made my ADRs but I'm thinking about adding a breakfast. I really want to meet Ariel and I know her grotto is closed at MK and I don't think she has any other greeting areas out in the parks, right? I'm pretty sure she is at Akershush and Cinderella's Royal Table. Is there one that she is at more often? I'd hate to go and miss her. I'm leaning more towards Akershush at this point but the money for breakfast makes me pause...I know I can use my dining credits there but I don't know. Thoughts?

Leslie, I just went over the photos from our last breakfast at Akershush and there was no Ariel! The princesses we had were Belle, Mulan, Aurora, Jasmine, and their friend, Mary Poppins.

I actually prefer Akershush to CRT... Cindy's is always so jam-packed and crazy-busy! Akershush is more relaxed...

Kathy

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W370, it's the newest model.

I would think that Disney would be setting up a meet and greet for Ariel someplace in the MK before summer....I'll keep my eyes peeled for info.

I read somewhere where Ariel is going to be while the Grotto is gone... perhaps HS for a meet and greet?

I love CRT... but think Norway is more relaxing and you would meet more princesses.

LL! WOW! I totally missed that you had a new PTR and I am so thrilled for you :) That is just wonderful. And what a great time to go, I bet the crowds will be low, with school starting, and you will have a great time. Cant wait to hear what you have up your sleeve! Congrats on the weight loss and on the apartment move, etc! I was thinking I really liked the look of POR too, so I am glad you will be there to share photos!

Cant wait to hear more. Sept will be here before you know it!!! :yay:

My my girl! You are mighty jumbled! All are good thoughts though! I'm similar with the Birnbaum books too! I buy them as a keepsake really so I have the photos! Heaven knows I don't need the info in them!

Do I know this evil little man story? Because if not, I'd like to hear it. :rolleyes1

Maybe....I don't know! The story...A couple of years ago, DBFF and I stayed at POR. A teeny little mistake was made at CRT and two too many dining credits were taken off. Not a big deal, except that we had plans for them, and we didn't notice them until the next meal when I checked the amount remaining just to be sure. So, the next morning before we headed out for the day, we went up to the lobby front desk to have the matter taken care of. I showed the girl the reciepts from all the meals we had and she looked them up in the computer. She said she could see the mistake and just had to grab her manager to fix it. Did I mention that this day was my birthday? And it was also during the first of the two Years Of A Million Dreams? This man had no interest in making dreams come true! So this little pompous-looking man comes out of the back office and looks really irritated! The front desk clerk and I both explained the situation and I showed him my reciepts. He refused to change it. He told me it was my fault that I didn't notice the mistake when it happened and that he had no reason to fix it for me. I should be more careful. I explained to him that I reported it as soon as I noticed the mistake. He told me that I should stop complaining since the dining plan was free for us anyway and be thankful for the credits we had!:eek: I was so frustrated and surprised by his demeanor that I just burst into tears and walked away. DBFF thankfully took control of the situation since I was at a loss, and I guess she gave him whatfore! I called guest services when I got home to register a formal complaint. The guest services Manager called me back and sent me some stuff and informed me that the employee in question was "placed in another position" It was probably the absolute worst service I have ever recieved. Not just at Disney, anywhere! But they definately made up for it. They sent me some merchandise and gift cards and sent me an apology letter. They were wonderful about handling it!

So, that's the story! I'm sure your experience will be WAY better!

The countdown calendar is very labor intensive that is for sure. Good thing I love him! ;):rotfl:

I HIGHLY recommend POR. I mean, not that I have stayed there but the vibe that I get from POR is excellent and I had a wonderful time at POFQ so I imagine it will be a lovely stay.

my favorite shoes for the parks are Chacos. They are awesome. I was pregnant and lugging around a one year old and my feet felt great (relatively speaking!). And they are guaranteed for life. Not just the footbed like with birkis.

I should check ebay, I never think to go on there for clothes. Pin Lots...yes. :rotfl2:

I think I'm going to do my sneakers in the parks for the most part. I just want the Teva Mush Flippies for the pool, trips to DTD and things I won't be walking around quite as much as the parks. My feet will need a little break from my sneakers.

I thought about the Teva Mushies too but I need good foot support or my feet hurt. However, I did see some recently at Marshalls and they were around 15 bucks if I recall. Just thought I'd let you know! I almost bought them but wasn't sure how much I would use them. I may need to go back. lol.

:lmao: You better go back quick before they aren't there! :rotfl:

Sigh...no Ariel. I'm still iffy on the princess breakfast but if we do go I think it will be to Akershush. I just really want to see Ariel. I need to do some investigating. You think they would have a meet and greet SOMEWHERE for her.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W370, it's the newest model.

I would think that Disney would be setting up a meet and greet for Ariel someplace in the MK before summer....I'll keep my eyes peeled for info.
Thanks for the camera model. I was looking at it last night and I think I'm in love.

Thanks for keeping your eyes peeled for Ariel! :goodvibes

I read somewhere where Ariel is going to be while the Grotto is gone... perhaps HS for a meet and greet?

I love CRT... but think Norway is more relaxing and you would meet more princesses.
I'll have to do some investigating. I like CRT as well but the price is even more and I don't want to use 2 TS for it. Just not "worth" the dining credits..to me at least.

LL! WOW! I totally missed that you had a new PTR and I am so thrilled for you :) That is just wonderful. Hi! We went around Labor Day in 2008 and even then the crowds were great. Very low and didn't have to wait very long for rides. I think that will be the case at the end of September too.

My my girl! You are mighty jumbled! All are good thoughts though! I'm similar with the Birnbaum books too! I buy them as a keepsake really so I have the photos! Heaven knows I don't need the info in them!

That is how I feel about Disney books too. I just like to look at the pictures. :rotfl2:

Wow! That is quite the story but good for Disney for putting him into another position. I hope that is magic speak for fired. No one should be treated that way ESPECIALLY at Disney! :scared1:

First off, LL, let me just say that I have truly missed your pre-trippies! I didn't realize just how much until you started this one! ;) Only you could take a Random Jumble and turn it into a manageable list! :goodvibes

I agree. Me & Riverside belong together in a big puffy heart.

LL & POR 4 Eva. :rotfl:

:rotfl::rotfl2::lmao:

I do think you need to Photoshop that on a picture of Riverside!

I had to do some errands today. I've been looking online for a new bathing suit. I don't want to spend a small fortune on one because I know that by next summer I'll need a smaller one. I have been looking at the tankinis. Let me tell you I don't think I've owned a two piece bathing suit since I was 5. No worries, there will be NO skin showing but I had some luck at Target. They had this cute top on sale for $10! You just can't beat that. Then I went to Walmart where I had saw online they had bottoms for $10 but they weren't in the store so I'm just going to have to order them online. I'm very excited, a whole bathing suit for just $20! I tried on the top and it's a bit tight but I know I'll lose more weight between now and September so it will be fine. I can NOT wait to be at the pool.

All of my bathing suits are tankinis -- I love them! :thumbsup2

I have already made my ADRs but I'm thinking about adding a breakfast. I would do the Norway breakfast -- it seems like I see pictures of Ariel there quite frequently.

I went to the bookstore today and bought a new book. Okay, two new books. Both Disney of course.

Of course!!! What's a Disney trip without new reading material!!!

I'm making Marc a countdown, hence the need for cutting up a book. It's okay, I've made my peace with it. Plus I know all the information. I just want the pretty pictures. With me going to school and Marc working 2 jobs we are not going to see each other all that often. So I thought a nice daily countdown to remind him why we are working so hard would be a nice thing. I'll take pictures when I'm finished.

What a cute idea!!! However, I am not sure how I feel about you cutting up a book. I think my heart stopped a little when I read that. ;)

I want a new camera.

I have been very pleased with our point and shoot but it doesn't do panoramics.

I've started to make a shopping list for what we need for this trip. I'm trying to keep it to a minimum.

I have a Free Shipping Code when you buy two pairs of Teva flipflops from their website. I am going to get both Charles and Connor a pair of Mush Flippies because I love mine so much. Let me know if you want the code!

Good morning LL! I'm a little late but just found your PTR. Looking forward to following along with your plans. POR looks just gorgeous. We are going to do some resort hopping this summer and I've put it at the top of my list! Congrats to you and Marc with the weight loss. For me, it's a daily battle!:goodvibes

Awwwww!! Thank you! That is so sweet of you, you just made my day.

:rotfl::rotfl2::lmao:

I do think you need to Photoshop that on a picture of Riverside!
I will work on that for you. :lmao:

All of my bathing suits are tankinis -- I love them! :thumbsup2
I tried it on last night and I really like it. Now I just need bottoms. :rotfl:

I would do the Norway breakfast -- it seems like I see pictures of Ariel there quite frequently.
I've made some dining changes...big surprise, eh? I think I'm going to pass on Akershush.

Of course!!! What's a Disney trip without new reading material!!!

What a cute idea!!! However, I am not sure how I feel about you cutting up a book. I think my heart stopped a little when I read that. ;)
You know, I hesitated posting about cutting up a book because I thought you might have a heart attack. :rotfl2: Trust me, I'm not one to cut up a book BUT I figure I have another copy of it so it's okay. :rotfl:

I have been very pleased with our point and shoot but it doesn't do panoramics.

Thanks for the offer but I don't want to enable myself to buy two more pairs of flip flops. :lmao:

Thanks for finding me!! Resort hopping is so much fun, I love checking out the other resorts. :goodvibes

First off, Happy Mother's Day to all you DIS Moms out there. :flower3:

I'm updating again. Three days in a row. Can you tell I'm excited about this trip? :rotfl:

I've just spend the last 3+ hours tweaking our trip/itinerary/adrs, minus the time I took for a shower. Marc had to work at 8am this morning so that meant the alarm went off before 7. Once I wake up past 6am on a weekend, all bets are off for me to go back to sleep.

Last night I joked to Marc that if he was going to be working all the time and we wouldn't be seeing each other a lot that we really should go for 7 nights at Disney, the full week effect. He totally bought it. Doesn't he know those jokes are serious when I'm planning a trip?! :rotfl: So he told me to make it work. So I did.

I do have to say that with the new schedule it means I'm missing two days of class. I want to feel out school this week and talk to them and see how that is going to work. If it's too much to miss two days then I'll go back to the six night thing with some pouting on the side.

I'm not going to type out my first itinerary since it's OUT THE WINDOW. Basically, it was 9/22 - 9/28. Arrive early in Orlando. Have 1 park day at Animal Kingdom & Hollywood Studios. Two days at Magic Kingdom and Epcot each. I wasn't happy with this plan because we wouldn't be going to MK until the last two days. Not okay with me. :rotfl: Plus, we'd fly out early on the 28th because I would have to make it back from a 6pm class, not my idea of fun.

So here is the new and improved itinerary. We are just doing base tickets without the park hopping. I really haven't park hopped too much in the last few trips and I think if we plan everything right we will be okay. Plus, I don't like the idea of park hopping while using Disney buses. We are also not going to MNSSHP as of right now. I'd like too but it's more important for us to have this trip then to make sure all the extras are included. We've gone before so I'm okay with not going.

Monday 9/20
*Fly to Orlando (early flight)
*Check into Port Orleans Riverside
*If room is ready, settle in
*Head to Magic Kingdom (9-9PM, Spectro 8, Wishes 9)
*Liberty Tree Tavern @ 2:30PM (1TS)

Tuesday 9/22
*Hollywood Studios (9-7PM)
*Hollywood Brown Derby @ 12:30PM (OOP $)

We are going to pay OOP for Brown Derby because I adore their appetizers, plus I think for 2 TS credits it's just not worth it for us. I don't know if we will stay at Hollywood Studios until closing. We might want to get back to Riverside and enjoy the pool a bit and head to Downtown Disney for dinner. I'm leaning towards that. Wolfgang Puck Express is calling my name.

Wednesday 9/23
*Animal Kingdom (9-5PM, PM EMH's 5-8PM)
*Yak N' Yeti @ 12PM (1TS)

I think I want to get a later start at AK. I have very few must do's here in terms of rides. Expedition Everest (more for Marc, I want to be brave enough to ride it this time) and the Safari. I'd like to do more exploring where the animals are concerned. I'd also like to catch It's Tough to be a Bug and Finding Nemo. Lion King will be good if we have time and I'd like to take Marc to Rafikii's. This is his first time at AK, so I want to get a good array of things in. Do you think a later start (thinking of getting there around 11am) would be too late for a set of EE fastpasses?

Thursday 9/24
*Epcot (9-9PM)
*Les Chefs de France @ 12:30PM (1TS)

I think we'll get here at Rope Drop and probably leave mid to late afternoon for some pool time at Riverside. I plan to get in a lot of pool time along with some midnight swims like we did in 2008. I can't wait! Anyways...back to Epcot. Does anyone know if you can do the fixed menu at Les Chefs for 1TS credit?? I think I read that you could but want to make sure. Our must dos for rides are Soarin (as many times as humanly possible) Spaceship Earth and Test Track. I'd like to also see American Adventure, the Manatees and spend as much time in United Kingdom as possible.

Friday 9/25
*Magic Kingdom (9-9PM, Spectro 8, Wishes 9)
*Narcoossee's @ 9:40PM (2 TS)

The plan for right now is to arrive at Magic Kingdom in the afternoon. Maybe in time to catch the 3PM parade. Not entirely sure. We'll leave it up in the air. We are going to bring a change of clothes for Narcoossee's. Marc said he didn't mind carrying a backpack in the park for 1 day. If we didn't get catch Spectromagic on our first night then we'll make sure to see it this night which is why Narcoossee's is so late. I'm super excited for this dinner. It will be a nice romantical evening for us. We plan to take a taxi back to Riverside after dinner. I can't wait to see The Grand Floridian too. I've never been there! You know...I'm thinking and if we did a dinner around Wishes we could maybe see it, right? Do they pipe in the music? Or we could do California Grill. Oh man, decisions decisions.

Saturday 9/26
*Epcot (9-9PM)
*Rose & Crown Pub @ 5:20PM (1TS)

It will be another late starting day for us. If we want to catch Illuminations this is the night that we will do it. I'm iffy on that, I'm going to leave it up to Marc. I'm excited to be taking him to Rose & Crown Pub. It will be delicious. I think this might be more of a World Showcase day but we'll see how the waits are for Test Track and Soarin. I'm hoping to get there early enough to snag a Soarin' fastpass but with it being a Saturday I'm not going to worry about it too much.

Sunday 9/27
*Magic Kingdom (9-8PM, PM EMH's 8-11PM)

We have no ADRs this day but I'm thinking of adding one. Maybe at The Plaza, Crystal Palace or Tony's. Not sure. Somewhere at Magic Kingdom though. We plan to be at MK for rope drop, take a break and then back for the evening EMH's. I'm secretly hoping they will extend their hours. It seems like this is the standard for Sunday nights at MK and then as you get closer they extend them. I'd really like to make it to park closing though.

Monday 9/28
*Kona Cafe @ 9:15AM (1TS)
*Wherever the mood strikes us (MK, EP, AK or DHS)
*Late flight out

I like the idea of starting our departure day at Kona Cafe. I can't wait to try the macadamia nut pancakes. Yum. I'm thinking we should pay OOP for this meal. If we do, then we can add a 1TS on our MK day. I'm going to talk with Marc and see what he thinks.

So there you have it! I can tell that Itinerary Version 3 will be coming toa computer near you...SOON!

LOVE the itinerary! You are packing in some great restaurants and also love that you are planning for some relaxing around the pool time too! :thumbsup2 I don't know about the TS credits at Chefs but I do know I love the prix fix meal... onion soup, croque monsieur and creme brulee. YUM-O! Hope you have a cute waiter. ;)

I have not been but believe that I have heard Narcoossee's pipes in the Wishes music. I have heard it is quite romantical. :lovestruc Can't wait to hear what you think of the Grand Floridian. It is quite grand!

I like your starting out departure day with something special. I need to find some tradition to make departure day not quite as depressing!

I'm super excited for your trip!! :yay:
