Purchase AKL concierge?

If you get the concierge room what is rules for guests? Can only those on reservations access or can you bring additional family members into lounge who are on trip? We likely will travel with 4 adults and 2 kids across two studios and could see value in getting concierge with the 4 adults on one room but logistically would be split across two rooms and not worth cost for both imo (let alone difficulty in getting both).

The guests on the reservation are the only ones who have access to the club lounge.

Walking can work, but not if you need to cross your UY to do the walk. Then you have points left over that cannot be banked for the year before (or points that you borrowed to do the walk and they cannot be unborrowed). So if you want dates in Dec and you have a Dec UY, you can't start that walk until Jan before your trip.

That last sentence doesn't sound right.

If you have a December use year, you can't start a walk for December stays until December 1. Chances are you won't be able to start a walk that close to the desired dates.

For example, a stay of 12/7/22 - 12/14/22 falls in the December 2022 use year. Can't start a walk for that until 12/1/22, unless you are willing to end up with points stuck in your 2021 use year. By 12/1, others will probably already have blocked you from getting that first reservation you need to start the walk.

If you think you will need to regularly walk a certain reservation, it's best to have a use year that begins a few months prior to that stay.

A Dec 1, 2022 reservation would be booked on Jan 1, 2022 which I think is what they were meaning about not being able to book until the Jan before your trip.

Yes, but you can't reserve any dates before 12/1/22 and that means you can't walk that reservation.

But I think I see what they meant, now. Members with earlier use years can book early December dates before January 1 if they are walking the reservation. So we are saying the same thing, just differently. Thanks.
