~* Welcome! *~
April 29th - May 4th at the Ft Wilderness Cabins!
Meet my family! FDR State Park: Family Vacation - August 2016 ... Well, our backs and bottoms!
Hi, my name is Paige! My husband and I have been together since high school, and we have a beautiful little girl, Princess M, who will be turning 5 very soon. I am a 25 year old University student majoring in Nutrition and Dietetics while working part-time as a group exercise instructor and health coach. My favorite Disney princess is Belle, closely followed by Pocahontas and Rapunzel! Tink is cute, too.
My husband has not been to Disney World since he was a child and barely remembers it, and I have only been to Magic Kingdom and Epcot once as a pre-teen helping to corral little cousins. Our daughter has never been! The past two years my mother-in-law and I have been planning to bring her as a surprise for her 5th birthday, and the time finally came to get everything started!
Fortunately, we are Florida residents and get a nice discount and can easily drive to Orlando; unfortunately, ticket and Spring room discounts are blocked out on her actual day of birth. To compromise, we are going a little over a week before (edit: just kidding, a month early!) and saving a couple hundred dollars. That said, we priced our the difference to upgrade to annual passes and have decided to take the plunge and upgrade when we arrive!
And now, we invite you to relax, let us pull up a chair, as I proudly present...
Princess M's Surprise Birthday Pre-Trip Report!
We have booked a cabin at Fort Wilderness from Friday, April 29th through Wednesday, May 4th!
My MIL, FIL, and SIL will be joining us from Friday - Monday and we'll have the cabin to ourselves for Tuesday and Thursday.
We've paid for the regular Disney Dining Plan for convenience and inclusiveness, and we may save just a smidgen as well.
~* Enter: The Birthday Princess *~
M is a spunky and creative 4-year old girl. She was born on June 15th and has made my life completely magical. <3 I hope to add some more magic to her life on this trip!
She almost exclusively wants to wear dresses and tutus, even when riding her bike or trying to climb trees. She draws every day and enjoys helping her grandmother plant, tend, and "decorate" a fairy garden. She is in VPK and loves to tell me that she is a big kid and is going to "big kid school" very soon! She practiced saying veterinarian with me for days so that she could tell people that is what she wants to be when she grows up. We have a family dog named Zeust, but she has tried to convince us that we need more: we have to get a talking parrot. She went camping for the first time at 3 months old and we typically go a few times a year, mostly tent camping but occasionally we borrow DH's parent's pop-up camper, and last summer we rented a cabin for a week. Needless to say, she loves nature and I think Fort Wilderness will be great for our family!
She is a little bit mischievous, curious, adventurous, yet can be shy, slow-to-warm-up and unsure of herself. She notices and remembers things you wouldn't expect, asks tough questions (ranging from "What did I look like before I was born?" to "Why did Elsa create such a mean ice monster and let him go after her sister?"), and definitely can be stubborn. She is affectionate, kind, and playful, yet already has a sarcastic sense of humor! She loves surprises, isn't afraid to call people out, but she gets nervous if she fees like she has an audience.
Her favorite princesses are (usually) Elsa, Anna, Cinderella, and Merida although she frequently tacks on any of the many other princesses whenever asked. Her favorite colors are purple, pink, blue, green, orange, red, yellow... (order periodically changes) ... until she runs out of colors to say. As you may see, she can be difficult to chose things for, since her preferences are so fluid. Her favorite foods are currently spaghetti and parfaits.
Finally, she has never been to Disney World and knows almost nothing about it... so I am absolutely giddy for our upcoming vacation to celebrate her birthday!
