Playing 'I Spy' in Disney... December 2010 TR

Another lovely day :goodvibes

Great that you all got to see Fantasmic! Such a great show

Socks with sandals - very sylish :rotfl:

no way would I wait 200 minutues, 30 mins is about my limit and then only if I have to.

This morning was very early... so we rushed out of the door and parked up in Animal Kingdom for our Tusker House breakfast.
This was everybody's Christmas present from Tom and I, and I for one was really excited! We were let into the park before everybody else, which was quite exciting, as we'd never done that before! :goodvibes

Tusker House was really nice - the characters were great fun and the food was lovely! I loved the Mickey waffles, and I've never had Krispy Kreme doughnuts for breakfast before! :)

For some reason, Goofy didn't like Ryan! He would pull his hat off, or put his hand in his face, make him jump whenever he saw him :confused3 It started to tick Ryan off... but I've never laughed so much! :rotfl:

After this yummy breakfast, we popped over to the 'Finding Nemo: The Musical', as we missed the shows last time. This was fantastic! :lovestruc It was such a good show; very moving, very clever and very pretty!

We moved on from Animal Kingdom, which was very busy at this time, and drove to Daytona race track.
163672_10150362892090251_898970250_16552074_2576675_n.jpg

Mum, Grandma and Melissa went to Daytona beach, whilst Dad, Grandad, Ryan, Tom and I stayed at the track and went on the 'All Access Tour'. Now, I'm not big on Speedway, I'm a bit of a F1 girl, but this was a fantastic tour! I learnt so much and our guide was so enthusiastic!
164814_10150362892855251_898970250_16552094_5050287_n.jpg

Tom and I stood on the 18 degrees banked starting line.
The banking in the corners of the track are 35 degrees - I don't have any decent pictures to show just how steep this is!

163165_10150362893095251_898970250_16552100_3423855_n.jpg

The five of us stood at Victory Lane.
This is where the drivers come to collect their trophies.

164885_10150362894040251_898970250_16552122_686496_n.jpg

The track from the Daytona's Executive box.
Only the exec's are allowed up here during races, and apparently, this is the best place to be, as you can see the start/ finish line. Looking from up here, we could see just how much ground we had covered in our little tram, and at just how big the track is!

The tour was amazing, and I'll definately be checking out the Daytona 500 races when they start soon. :goodvibes
When the tour ended, we drove to the beach to pick up Mum, Grandma and Melissa. They didn't like the beach too much - the weather was cold and the area was very run-down. :sad1: But now they can say that they'd been there!

We got home and had a few drinks, watched a film and played a couple of pool and air hockey games, before heading for bed. What a great day!

Another great day :goodvibes

We also love the Tusker House Breakfast - you can't beat donuts for breakfast :rotfl:

Unfortunately, we're reaching the end of our holiday... and we haven't been to a waterpark! The weather hadn't been great for us, and it was still pretty chilly today, but we are British, so we went to Blizzard Beach!

(I don't have many pictures today, as I didn't want to ruin my camera, so a lot of pictures are on an underwater camera Ryan has! Oops!)

We found somewhere to set up camp, and then Mum, Dad, Ryan, Melissa, Tom and I had a dip in the wave pool - it was pretty chilly, so we quickly decided to jump on 'Teamboat Springs'. This was so fun; I thought we were going to fall out at one point!

Dad decided that he was going to do 'Summit Plummit'... I know! I wasn't so sure, so I decided to go on 'Slush Gusher' first. This was quite scary, at one point, I actually lifted off the slide!
167691_10150362894455251_898970250_16552126_2437872_n.jpg

Tom braving 'Slush Gusher'... for someone who doesn't like heights, he didn't do too badly!

As it was so quiet at Blizzard Beach, because of the weather, we didn't queue for any slides at all, which was amazing! So I knew it was now or never for 'Summit Plummit'.
Dad went first, then Ryan, and then Tom started to chicken out, so I said he should go next. Melissa and I were left. I was starting to chicken out now! :lmao: My 15 year old sister told me to stop being silly and go! :rotfl: And I did! It did mean Melissa was up there by herself, but she was more concerned about me: if it wasn't for her, I might have changed my mind and came down on the chairlift! :woohoo:
163034_10150362894615251_898970250_16552128_3901756_n.jpg

After these, we moved on to the rest - 'Toboggan Racers', 'Snow Stormers', 'Downhill Double Dippers', 'Runoff Rapids' and the 'Cross Country Creek'.
164107_10150362894780251_898970250_16552130_4982251_n.jpg

Melissa and I are the two racers quite far back... we didn't win!

168753_10150362894925251_898970250_16552132_5793458_n.jpg

Tom, declaring himself the winner, Ryan and I.

164546_10150362895085251_898970250_16552133_7798736_n.jpg

Tom and I racing - I got the fastest time out of all of us on this :thumbsup2

Soon, it was time to leave. We had had so much fun, and had done everything we had wanted too!
Melissa and I got our hair braided before leaving - we didn't take any pictures though :confused3 I loved it, and have only just taken it out this morning, because I needed a haircut, hehe!

163599_10150362895245251_898970250_16552134_8263703_n.jpg

We moved onto Downtown Disney to have tea in the 'Earl of Sandwich', thanks to the DIS! I had heard so much about the Hawaiian BBQ that I couldn't come home without having tried it... and it was gorgeous! :worship:  Grandad had a BLT, and went as far as to say it was the best BLT he had ever had. High praise from a family of foodies!

Tom and I did a little shopping and bought a couple of Christmas decorations to start off my new tradition  and, again thanks to the DIS, popped into 'Goofy's Candy Co.' Yum! I got some pretzel rods with Christmas sprinkles, mini M&Ms and chocolate chips! They were so good!
167351_10150349304455032_810130031_16599955_6342560_n.jpg

Soon, we moved onto Magic Kingdom, and our first stop was 'Haunted Mansion'. Tom had never done this ride, so we jumped on. He was fascinated with the ghosts in the dancing scene, and was also trying to spot any Hidden Mickeys! The scary atmosphere was ruined slighty, as the ride kept stopping and starting, and someone was texting on their phone the whole time! :confused3

Tom, Melissa and I wanted to check out BTM in the dark so we agreed to meet the rest of the gang in an hour. The queue was only 30 minutes! The 3 of us managed to squeeze into one seat, but it was an amazing ride, and very different riding in the dark!

As we were early to meet everyone else, we watched the end of the MSEP, and then crossed the road to Pecos Bills to grab a hot drink, as it was getting chilly. We happened to see Mum, Dad, Grandma, Grandad and Ryan sat outside! So, Dad went and bought us some hot chocolates and cookies, before we head over to the castle, ready for the fireworks!

There was a DJ playing party music at the front of Cinderella's Castle: it was amazing to see everyone doing the Cha Cha Slide! :woohoo: After singing and dancing for a little longer, the New Years Eve Eve fireworks began.

Now, I think I'm a bit snobbish about fireworks ;) - my hometown hosts the Firework World Championships in August, and they are amazing, I've seen all sorts of Disney fireworks, and they are amazing.
These fireworks... they were something else!

The pictures don't really do them any justice!
As I turned around to Tom, there were fireworks behind us too! When the countdown to NYE started, the fireworks were of numbers! It was fantastic! :goodvibes

After we sang Auld Lang Syne, we made a move back to the villa. We had an early morning the next day, as we had to pack up and go home.
But what a great way to end! :thumbsup2

Last day to come soon!

Wow, it must have been fantastic to spend NYE in MK

The fireworks sound fantastic :cloud9:

I ALWAYS do this :L Wait until the last minute to find a trip report. I have enjoyed reading this and you've made me so excited to go back :goodvibes
You and your boyfriend make an adorable couple

Apologies in advance for no photos - not sure where they are!

We all woke up early to alarms after our amazing last Disney night, and packed up the last few items before leaving the villa :sad2:

Off we drove to Downtown Disney and everyone checked in easily. Next, we decided to check ut 'Pollo Campero' for lunch... mixed views on this place. I loved it, it was just what I needed! Tom wasn't that impressed though, he said his chicken was too dry
We then munched on our Goofy snacks, as we were too full yesterday to eat them! Yum yum! ;) They were delicious!

More shopping after lunch - I bought myself a new bag  Not a Dooney and Burke one, I couldn't afford it, but I love it all the same!
After finally finding that orange Goofy hoodie Tom was after, we moved onto Disney Quest! Tom and I split up and were the only 2 on the 'Mighty Ducks' game! It was a close call, but Tom beat me, just! :rotfl:

We moved on and played a few more games, like the NASCAR racing and the motorbikes, before heading down to the Create Zone! Tom had spotted that there was a tutorial on how to draw Goofy, so he sat down in the last seat whilst I was creative! I played on the 'Living Easels' and created a new, weird toy with Sid, before heading into the soundbooths and writing my own pop song! I had a bunch of fun! :thumbsup2 Tom was still drawing, so I went to see how he was doing - it was really good! He's still really proud of his finished product!

Next, we did the 'Virtual Jungle Cruise' with Melissa, who we bumped into. This was fun, but really tiring! Finally Tom, Melissa and I created our own rollercoaster on 'Cyber Mountain', and then went to ride it! This was so cool! :rotfl2: Tom and I went first and ended up laughing the whole way through, and then Melissa and Tom went and I loved watching their reactions! :lmao:

We found the rest of our crew and then head over to the car to go to the airport :sad1:
166394_10150363222595032_810130031_16840611_99117_n.jpg

The airport was so boring, as it was all closed up for NYE, so we sat and did puzzles, wrote in diaries and read books before we could board.

The plane was delayed by an hour - but once we'd taken off, I watched Toy Story 3, had my yummy dinner, then tried to get some sleep. I woke up at about 2am, and realised it was the New Year! But I was so exhausted, I just went back to sleep! :)

We landed at about 9am, collected our luggage and got our taxi back to our cars at the B&B. We were back in the UK!

Well, I've reached the end of my TR, and I'm getting over my Disney blues thanks to writing it all down! It's a great therapy! :thumbsup2

I had such a fantasic holiday; it was a fab way to spend the Christmas holidays :santa: even if it was a little colder than we'd anticipated! Discovery Cove was an amazing experience that I will never forget, and I loved doing all the 'firsts' with Tom that he'd not done before, but also doing some 'firsts' of my own. :goodvibes

Riding 'Tower of Terror' with Ryan, Melissa and Tom was amazing fun, but also spending Christmas Eve in the Contemporary hotel and eating at Chef Mickeys with Mickey and his gang was something I'll never forget! :lovestruc

Dad said I'd spent too much time online researching and planning - but soon he realised that it was all useful.
Thanks to Tom and I listening to a podcast, and me checking out the DIS, we never would have found EoS, Goofy's Candy Co., the NYEE fireworks, Chef Mickeys, little monorail tricks... :surfweb:

So I want to say a little thank you to the DIS too :worship:

Someone let me know when I can book a 2012 Disney Dream cruise... Because I'm going back soon! :woohoo: Well, that's the plan anyway! :lmao:

I hope you all enjoying reading my report, thankyou for sticking with me!

Lots of love and hugs

Loved your report !! Dont know how I missed it!!

You certainly know how to pack stuff into your days. We were there just before you guys and I have to say I have never felt cold like it and yes I had to don the socks and sandals look too :-0

Great TR! We are planning on going back to WDW in November '13 so your TR is very helpful! Hopefully it won't be too chilly when we go!

Blizzard Beach looks great! We have only tried Typhoon Lagoon. Your pictures are great! :goodvibes

Daytona Race Track looks great. My dad loves cars, so that might be great for him!

I hope you have a good time at Coronado Springs! Not long now! :woohoo:

Aw thanks Meg! Haha, I'm sure it won't be as bad... we just happened to be a little unlucky with all the cold! :rotfl2: Tom was not impressed!

When I've been to WDW in recent years, BB is the only swim park that is open, so it will be nice to try Typhoon Lagoon!
And Daytona was fab! I really enjoyed learning about the cars and track, and we've got some great pictures on the winners podium and in the Exec box! :thumbsup2

I am so excited about CSR! I really need this holiday! :goodvibes
