Wow! I have been a BAD Diser.
I haven't updated in a week--but to be fair, it was a busy one! I did track it all in my spreadsheet though, so it was the work of a moment to input it all here after finally logging on! All caught up now and as you can see...I am tantalizingly close to $600 in the vacation account. The reason that is significant is because on December 1st, I get to add the gift budget money for DH's birthday and Christmas and that should help us see $1000 before the end of the year. (Well, technically it should be closer to $1400 by the end of December, but you get what I mean!) FINALLY it feels like we are getting somewhere. The deposits always kill me at the beginning...you look like you lose a bunch of momentum...and when you add in the fact that it has been a pricey fall and the money has been slow to build...UGH!
I could not make survey money for the LIFE of me the last several days. That has been a source of much consternation, but I usually get lots of opportunities in November, December AND January...so hopefully they do come around this year like they have in years past.
I have adjusted my totals a little...some of the travel food was mis-assigned in my spreadsheet and I caught the error when I was adjusting to allow for the Disney deposit. It should be fairly correct now...always excepting for the wiggle room needed for the currency conversion.
DH's contract was finally negotiated (he's been working without one since July 1st--well, I guess just working from the old one, not without one!) and the new one is actually very good. He's supposed to be back paid his raise on this next paycheck so we should see a nice big chunk this time plus a little bump in the months ahead. He thinks we should use a bit of that to help fund the vacation, so I'll see how much it actually ends up being and plan accordingly. So watch for that excitement! I'm trying not to get my hopes up though...because some expenses have also increased (or will be increasing come January), so it might not really end up being much of anything. So, maybe don't stay tuned for that.
