New policy for dining in park during MNSSHP

Has anybody heard this yet? I was just making ADRs for CRT during a MNSSHP night. The only time available was 6:40 and the cm said "wait it says special ticketed event". We planned on going that night anyway so I took it. But she said they were not going to let anyone in the restaurant after 4pm if you don't have a ticket for the party. This isn't how it was done in previous years. How are they going to enforce that if you booked online and didn't know the new policy? Just a heads up.

I think they should have this policy but make it 'no ADRs after 5:30pm' so you can have 1.5 hours to finish before you are 'booted out'.

Gah, I sure hope they aren't making this a new policy. We too have a 6:40 pm but were not planning on attending that night since it would cut out nearly 2 hours of the party.

We booked online. There was no prompt for it and their little blurb about having a valid theme park ticket does not cover this IMHO. At 6:40 pm, I have a valid ticket.

FYI - this isn't a new policy. It was in place last year as well. A hard ticket is required for all special ticketed events. You should be fine at 6:40 because your ADR is before 7.

The way I read the OP is that they were told 6:40 PM required a ticket too...quite different than previous years.

I only question this because they obviously released a new set of CRT ADRs when the parties were announced. Mostly 7:00-7:05-7:10 pm, but the 6:40 PM was in there also. Why would they hold that back and not have it available 180 days out?

I'm sorry. I misread your post. As to the 6:40 ADR not being released until recently, I have no idea. I can only assume the dates hadn't been loaded into the system yet.

When is the ADR for? I seem to remember having difficulty bookin the week of 10/13 for guests a couple of weeks ago.

My 6:40 pm is for Oct 2. :)

I don't recall having any issues with that week in particular. Either way, you'll be fine. Enjoy your meal and have a Magical vacation!

There was a policy before, but you couldn't have a reservation after 7 PM. The OP is saying they were told it was after 4 PM. Which is ridiculous (anyone with park admission is allowed into the park up until 7 PM), so I think the CM they were speaking to was confused.

This doesn't make any sense to me. The party doesn't start until 7p. You could eat dinner at 4:30/5:00 and be done before 7 easily.

Confused, or possibly looking at a computer screen that was telling them such. I just looked at the dining page on the website, and "Please call such and such to make a reservation" was listed next to the Trout Pass Pool Bar at WL. :rotfl2:

Somebody really, really, really screwed up the some programming in this last update...

I'd agree with that. Sounds like she was just confused that party guests can get in starting at 4p with their party ticket and when regular park tickets guests have to leave.

I just booked my CRT for the same time (640pm) yesterday for Nov 7, an MVMCP night, and the CM did not mention anything to me.

Although, the CM also told me since I had a split stay that I don't get my 180+10 until after the start of my split stay.... :thumbsup2

Anybody confirm this either way?

CRT at 6:40 on party night.

I guess I will try to follow up. I don't need to pay $500 for a dinner. lol

EDIT...online chat (lol)
me: I just wanted to confirm that I will only need a park ticket for my dinner at CRT on Nov xxth at 6:40 - not a MVMCP ticket as well
Crystal South: Hello and welcome to Disney chat online!!!
Crystal South: can you spell out CRT and MVMP so I am sure about what I am responding to?
me: cinderella's royal table
me: mickey very merry xmas party
Crystal South: Okay great so you will need at park ticket for each park of the events you are attending. If you are attending events at two different parks your will need park admission tickets for each.

I have heard this for years and its never come to anything. I do understand the reasoning for it from the perspective of someone who is a MVMCP ticket holder. Please don't get upset with me for saying this, but sometimes, when someone who has not paid to be at the party gets a late reservation, they hang out during party hours and even ride some rides or watch the parades. No, not everyone does this, but some do and it's upsetting or those of us who paid the extra money. I think that Disney might be saying this in hopes that people will only take the earlier reservations and then are guaranteed to be done and on their way out of the park at 7 pm.

Again, please don't yell at me! It's just my opinion and as we all know, it's the few who don't follow the rules that ruin it for the majority who do.

Wow. That CM sounds pretty clueless.....

Not upset because I see where you are coming from. However I have heard that when you are dining at a restaurant and you leave the restaurant after the party has started (and you don't have a ticket) a cm will escort you from the restaurant to the front of the park.

That's what happened to us last Ocober. We had 6:40 BOG reservations. I was stressed about getting denied because of MNSHP starting at 7. I read some posts stating our reservation would be cancelled. Well, it turned out to be our best dinner ever. The waiter was so great. He personally took us around the restaurant, showed us each special effect, and gave our kids a card for being well behaved during dinner.
Then we were escorted out by some very friendly CMs.
