This was a great thread! We also made the mistake of hoarding snack credits and then trying to spend them all the day we left. This year we will use the snack credits for breakfast items as well as fun snacks throughout the day. I also made our ADR's too close together last time and we were full going to our next meal. I've learned a few ideas off this thread. Keep it coming.
We use our snack credits for breakfast. Can get a bagel or a croissant, or a danish, or muffin. Works for us, then an early lunch. We have never ended up with left over credits.
My daughter and I will be doing the dining plan this coming July, so there will be
2 A and 2 C. We are getting the 2 QCS each a meal a day with 2 snack each a day.
We decide that we will be paying for 1 character meal out of pocket and 2 TS meals out of pocket, as the boys love rainforest cafe and the new T-rex place at downtown Disney.
That will leave us 3 QCS meal each left over. We thought we would use that for Breakfast for the boys. Since we don't eat breakfast, I'm now finding that we can't do that because you not suppose to share.
Listed below is from Disney world Dinning Brochure.
(Sorry, meal entitlements can not be shared between Guests ages 10+ and Guests ages 3-9.)
Do you think it would be better if I send my daughter out to the food court to bring the food back to the room?
We also were going to share all the meals, we would share one adult meal for us and the boys would share a child meal, that way we all could eat 4 small meal a day, since it would be so hot in July, It would be too hot to eat a big meal. We have been in July the last three years.
When we paid for it out of pocket, no one told us we couldn't do this, as this is something we have always done. I didn't think there would be any problem doing this on the dinning plan. first time we ate in July, you wouldn't believe the food we threw away, so we just started to share meals but eat more times a day. If we were hungry we would go back and get more.
I'm kind of wishing now, that I didn't get the dinner plan. I don't want anyone thinking we are cheating Disney, but we are eating the way we always did. We look at the snacks as a plus, we could get the boys ice cream or pop corn.
The only reason we didn't do the 1TS and 1CS a day is because I don't think we could eat that many TS. To me three is way too many TS in 7 days.
At rainforest cafe and T-rex we brought 2 adult meals, BQ ribs and shared with the boys, We still threw away food. We have never had anyone say that we couldn't share meals, when we are paying for it.
Do you really have trouble if you are sharing using the dinning plan? Has anyone ever had anyone say anything to you for doing this?
I am not quite understanding either. Are there only 2 people out of 4 getting the dining plan?
If 4 people are staying in the room, then all 4 must be on the same dining plan.
