Animagic claims to have a scoop about the current plot for Mickey's Philharmagic, which opens in Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom. See below for their description of what guests might be seeing early next year.
"The plot (not official!): Donald steals Mickey's Sorcerer's Hat, and the hat takes on a life of its own, and Donald ends up chasing it through famous Disney films. So you're flying a lot (think an animated "Soarin'") and at other times you're maneuvering through other terrain. The animation models are exquisitely faithful to the originals, with the difference that the characters have been completely computer modelled, and then passed on to the animators to act in their scenes. Since the characters have three dimensions as well as the scenery, there will be a level of depth never seen before in an animated 3D film. Plus, the enormous screen (bigger than Soarin's, though not concave), the sound effects and in-theater effects (wind, etc.).
The moving floor for the PhilharMagic project was cut some time back. Not entirely a budget move, it was just not really needed for the show. "
