Medieval Times or Pirate Adventure Dinner?

We have done Med. Times before, and thought we would do the Pirate dinner this trip, but wanted some input on how they are the same or are different. What my daughter loved about Med. Times was being assigned a man to cheer for, and she asked me if the same was true for the Pirates, but I don't know, so I am here!

If someone has been to the Pirate dinner, or both, I would love some feedback.

Thanks,

Traci

We went to Pirates on our last trip. Compared to Medieval Time the jest is about the same. Each section has their Pirate to cheer for.

Seating for the Pirate show is more crucial than at Medieval times. We were in the green section. The location was very poor for viewing the program. If I'd known, I'd of sprung for a better section.

The food...... Next time I'd eat before we go. Or go to In and But Burger on the way back to the hotel.

The kids really enjoyed the evening!

We went to the pirates dinner theater a couple of years ago & really enjoyed it. They even asked us if we wanted to be a part of the show & DH got up there & the kids loved it. The food was great & there was way too much to eat... they have appetizers before the show like cheese sticks jalepeno poppers a fruit & cheese tray etc. For dinnner they serve salad, the entree we had the chicken & the pork loin they were both really good & dessert after. Drinks are served w/the meal but not before so if you want a beverage w/your appetizers you will have to purchase one. We purchased the family picture they took of us all in pirates hats for $20 for 2 key chains & 2 larger photos. Great memorys of our vacation. If you go here: http://www.visitcalifornia.com/Fun-Spots/e80287 you can get a buy one get one free coupon. Ii highly suggest the pirates show :)

We have done both, we enjoyed MT very much but the girls didn't eat, it was too dark and they wouldn't eat what they couldn't see. We ended up getting them something on the way home. But the joust was really cool and it was very fun.

The Pirate meal, the food was 100 times better, you could SEE during the show and DBF and both girls were IN the show. I highly recommend the PA dinner, much more than MT. We had the chicken for the PA dinner, it was good and tasty! The girls loved it. We had a photo, we were assigned to cheer for the yellow pirate, we didn't win but it didn't matter. LOL

I moved this thread over to the Southern California section of our California & the West forum and out of the Disneyland forum.:goodvibes

Thanks everyone for the feedback! I think since I now know that you are assigned a pirate to cheer for, DD will try the Pirate dinner. That was her only concern. DH will undoubtedly volunteer to be in the show :sad2:, and we thought the MT food was fine, so if PA food is better, then that's a bonus! Because of mine and DD b-days, we were able to get a great discount for MT, so I hope we find a similar offer for PA. Thanks again!

What ages are best for this? I have 2 girls that are 6 and 7 along with another one that's just 1 (probably too small for a dinner show).

No there are only people.

And that's why MT is probably better. No horsey smell messing up your dinner. Plus you get to use utensils. Don't get me wrong, I love MT but I haven't done it since I was a kid. My mom wasn't a fan and now I understand. However we and my other grown siblings and my husband went for my mom's birthday and we loved it. I just wish they didn't start their holiday show so early. Elves and Christmas Faeries don't mix well with pirates. It was November! I'd go again, but I'm a huge pirate fan.

I went to the Pirate Adventures and had the exact opposite experience than the other posters. The food was terrible, every time you turned around it was more money for this or that, Be prepared to pay to be in the show and to sit close enough to see. The PA was very amateurish and a high school could have done a better job.
We had a better time at MT and we got robbed there. Yes robbed in the parking lot.

It's interesting because in theory, I should like the PA better because it is a musical, but I just didn't have a good of time as MT. It seemed that PA there was just way too many people drinking, and maybe that was the only way to really enjoy it? Not sure myself because I was driving. They put a story attached to it that was pretty boring IMO. At some point, a couple guys got into a fight in the audience, and of course they were escorted out. On top of that my pirate didn't win, although that wasn't really the bad part. It was just that you can tell which pirate is going to win when you see it, unlike at MT, they rotate who fights the knight at the end.
