Mears Towncar Service?? Anyone??

I was perusing the internet and decided to look at the services offered by Mears Transportation and lo and behold, they offer a towncar service from MCO. I went through the booking process but didn't pull the trigger and I was stunned to see that a LUXURY SUV from MCO to the Riviera would run me only $76 one-way, and the gratuity is INCLUDED. I don't know what you all think, but that sounds awfully reasonable to me. Can anyone comment about this?? I feel like this is just too good of a deal. I just want a little "splurge" so it's not really about the budget, more the experience. I honestly was thinking more about a limo since my daughter has never ridden in one, but I don't want to go too crazy. I just want to give my daughter (and now my BFF will be joining us too!) a little "treat" and make them feel a little special when they arrive at the resort. They have both taken DME many times and that's just not all that exciting anymore. Arriving in a private SUV with their own driver would really make their day!

Last month I used Mears town car MCO to Universal Royal Pacific. The return trip was cheaper than the outbound trip so it averaged $62.50 each way. I had been checking rideshare pricing around my arrival time and between the quotes, tip and anticipated wait, I decided to give Mears a shot. Our flight was a half hour early, but the driver was waiting in baggage for us then escorted us to our car. He used the express lanes for a quick ride to the resort. For the return trip, he was at the hotel at the requested time. Texts were send to give us the driver’s name both trips and on the return trip a text for when the car was dispatched and when it was pulling in. The first driver said he knew we were arriving early because their app tracked the flight. No tip was expected either time. The vehicle was a Lincoln Towncar in both cases (more an SUV style now), very clean, tint shades to keep the back seat cool. Considering the luggage assistance at pickup and the whole experience, I will happily use them again.

I'm trying to check rates & MCO isn't an option for pickup location. What am I doing wrong?

I called Mears today and was quoted the following prices for a trip in January 2022 from MCO to Beach Club:

Taxi - $49-53 + tolls and gratuity 1 way (but you have to wait in line for the taxi.)
Limo - $100 to Beach Club - $84 for return tolls and gratuity included so $184 total. Note sure why the trip back to MCO is cheaper.

So if Mears connect is charging $40 or more per person which would be $160 round trip for DW and I, I will just order the limo. Faster, more direct and considering how much money we will spend in WDW, the $24 potential difference between the Mears Connect and Limo is irrelevant (like 4 Mickey bars haha). And as MarclsMe said, the limo is a much nicer experience.

Hi all, I'm using Mears for an upcoming trip...I know it says gratuity is included, but do you think drivers expect any additional gratuity in the form of a cash tip? Not sure if I should plan for that...thanks!

I used them last year MCO to Royal Pacific and since the driver provided good service and a safe ride, I gave him a few extra bucks. He seemed surprised to get it and was appreciative.
