Just received the "Panama Canal" book for kids. I think I like it better than "Locks, Crocs, and Skeeters".
Who's the author on that one (the PC one)?

Hey guys,
I live in the Saugus area of SoCal and thought I would share a few pictures of what the last two days have been like here.
I hope everyone out here is doing ok.
The pictures of the actual fire and the water drop were taken while standing at the entrance to the neighborhood that I live in. It was about a 2 minute walk from my house. A very close call for us. If the wind had started blowing to the North the fire would have come right into our neighborhood. The fire fighters did an amazing job fighting this fire.
The fires are horrible and I pray everyone stays safe.
On a UP note - less than 200 days until we cruise
Very cool! Great pics too! I really love the one of your boys with their snow cones. They're so happy!Oh...and the best part of the party was that my DH won the adult musical chairs competition...$100!!!!!
I just heard on our news here in DC this morning that they are evacuting the evacuation centers now. They said the ones that they are evacuting are hotels and not schools.
Everyone in CA take care.....this is very very very scary to me (and i am sure to you!!)
I agree.....VERY scary.
Holly, this is a great idea. I have used mine to pay for all of my kids braces each year. Even though you work part time, maybe your employer could make it available to you. (if they offer it). It sounds like they really care for you and the work you do for them. The amount you can put in just went up to $3,600 I think.

OH MY GOSH! This is getting way too scary. I'm glad your friends are safe and back in their home, but what a close call they had!Eeek! I just got off the phone with our friends in Foothill Ranch (we lived there before moving to Murrieta). The fire came right up to their fence last night. He said there was one firetruck for every three homes on the canyon side and firemen in each backyard holding a defensive line. A house down the street suffered actual fire damage as the flames hit the house. Scary stuff...I'm just glad they're OK and back in their home today!! Right now San Diego and Lake Arrowhead/Big Bear are the big concerns. I read this morning San Diego has lost 1,000 homes and structures. I cannot imagine, how awful!
DITTO!!Glad you are safe!
