I just called and you had it right Valerie! The park closes at 8P the parade starts at 8P and the concert starts at 8:30P. All in Universal. Cool! I wish I could have found out the venue! Oh well soon enough :D

Thanks for answering JessicaR because I never used it during our last visit. Sure sounds like it would be fun for them. Were there other kids there besides yours?

Valerie - to put your mind at ease, why don't you call the hotel ahead of time and reserve a space for your kids!

I always thought the D meant Disney for some reason. :)

Usually when I use the D I mean darling, but today if I use DH it is not something as sweet! ;) We just got back from the beach and I saw NO WHALES. :( When I commented to DH on the way home, he said, Oh, the whales haven't moved that far down yet, if I knew you wanted to see whales we should have gone to the West end!!!
Sometimes I think he doesn't listen to me. :)

Anyhow, back on track, is the music in Universal part of the Madri Gras celebration? I know that I don't have to pay extra because I have the seasonal pass, but what about those with just admission tickets to Universal - do they have to pay extra for Mardi Gras?

Aloha,
Donna

Must be nice! Which island are you on and how long have you been living in Hawaii? Oh, what I would do now to be able to take a stroll down a WARM beach, keeping a lookout for whales....

Aloha,

How do you de-ice a walkway? I imagine you walking with a blow torch or something. LOL

I am on the island of Molokai. I have been in Hawaii since 1966.

I hope I bring some of the warmth with me in March. We are very unprepared for cold weather. :)

Although I saw no whales, it was very clear today. From the beach I could see three islands -Maui, Lanai and Kahoolawe. We were across the channel from Kaanapali in Maui. I could even see the hotels today! The water was very calm - would have been perfect for whale watching, if we had been in the correct place! ;)

The sand here is much coarser than that in Florida and not as white. But still I guess sand is better than snow. ;)

Hawaii has no amusement parks and no roller coasters. And we are so far away from everything. (Especially Florida) Last time we flew to Honolulu then non-stop to Newark and then down to Orlando. This time we go to Honolulu, then Oakland California then to Las Vegas (where we "rest" a couple of days) then to Chicago and then to Orlando. Maybe the jet lag won't be as bad. And we can adjust to the time difference better. But it is all worth it. :D Can't wait to meet everyone!

Aloha,
Donna

Mardi Gras is included with your admission.

I will be with you folks in spirit as I will be broke from my upcoming trip. Have a great one. Send some folks to my meet!

"Compose your final, loathesome dirge!"

Oh Donna, it sounds so wonderful where you are. We had rain and then sleet today. I bet it freezes over tonight.

I was trying to de-ice my walkway by throwing rock salt on it!

:D

Barry's post made me question what the D actually stood for. Read this and make sure you read the post from Joanne. I was hysterical. :D Link to DD post
