Instead of posting these photos in my current trip report, I separated them out for those of you interested in the Poly.

Here are some photos I took today (Mar 2) of the construction of the DVC waterfront site at the Polynesian.

Thanks! We walked by the week of 2/15-2/22 while staying at VGF and there was nothing 'up' yet, just the yellow construction barriers. Always fun to see how stuff progresses at Disney.

Will these be individual bungalows - like FW cabins? How many units? What is the anticipated date of completion?

I took these the morning of March 4.

You can see them working, not only on the framing of the bungalows, but also each roof.

Thanks for posting. Confirms my worst fear that the view I enjoy from the beach will be gone.

On the positive side, fewer people will stop by the Poly for a beverage and fireworks watching.

these are just being build on the beach - they will be on top of the water.

the fireworks are high so even with these things in the water - still think you will be able to see the fireworks.

thanks Mike for the pictures. Looks like they are going pretty fast.

Thank you for posting the photos.

In most of the initial reporting that took place, these over-water "bungalos" have beem described as grand villas. However, my long-held suspicion is that the bungalos will be more akin to the Treehouse Villas at SSR, in terms of size/capacity. Looking at these photos, my suspicion is even stronger... they do not look to be anywhere near large enough to be comparable the existing grand villas at the other resorts.

Still - very cool to see...

If you count studs and roof trusses it looks like they are 38-40' in one direction and maybe 34 to 38 in the other that would put them at a minimum at a minimum of 1292 sqft and a max of 1520, likely around 1400. this puts them much smaller than the typical GV, but larger than the 2brs and THV units

Just a few days later (3/7), the roofs were going on…

That location will be a Kodak moment shot after the bungalows are completed. Thanks for posting the f/u photo thisismyusername.

are these going to the left or the right of the poly boat dock? If facing magic kingdom

I thought Disney announced they would be 1 and 2 bedroom bungalows. I don't remember where I read it so it could be just a rumor. Either way this is at the top of my bucket list. I think I might even buy more points!
