Let's Play "The Next Poster"...Disneyland style! Part 2

False-though it has been a few years and I can count on one hand how many times I have made it over.

TNP got their drivers' license at Autopia before DMV.

False. I don't remember there being a "driver's license" when I was a kid (I'm 6 months younger than Disneyland), but maybe I just never knew about it.

My current DMV license picture WAS inspired by Disney, however. I get a lot of comments from TSA etc.

TNP has visited a site associated with Walt but not on Disney property.

True-we have been to the Walt Disney Museum several times in SF.

TNP has re-created a favorite Disney dish from scratch.
True-ish.
We were supposed to be in DL for my parents' 50th anniversary in Sept 2020. When that couldn't happen, we had Disneyland at home. I made Monte Cristo's the Cafe Orleans pommes frites, and marshmallow wands from scratch. They weren't favorite dishes - in fact, I'd never had any of them, and still haven't! - but they were delicious.

TNP has an unpopular opinion about a beloved DL ride.

True. And this kills me to say it, especially since I have been a lifelong Star Wars fan, but I think RotR is overrated. Maybe it's because I'm a bigger fan of the original trilogy, but it just didn't do it for me. Don't get me wrong, I was in awe by the technology and I liked how interactive the CMs were, but I left feeling very "meh" by the attraction overall. I had to ride PotC after to soothe my disappointment 😂

I like the theme, so I'll go with a similar statement/lead in...TNP has an unpopular opinion about a beloved DL food item or drink.

True! I take zero pleasure in the Monte Cristo sandwich.

TNP often rides an attraction "for someone else" ... perhaps "in memory of ... " or because that person simply couldn't join them that day.

Wait a sec! The DMV allowed you to wear a tiara for the photo? Why didn't I think of that! Ugh! I missed a great opportunity. (I had to visit the DVC earlier this year ... major "milestone" b-day and my first new photo in ... 30 years, I think??)

(Cute photo, adorable idea! I'm so happy for you!)

They did let me do it! Technically, I guess it's a headband. You couldn't wear an ear hat (covers the head) but my friend wore a Minnie Mouse headband in her picture. That's where I got the idea. Since I'm known for my tiara wearing, I gave it a shot. When I tentatively pulled it out of my purse when it was time for my picture, the DMV woman looked at it a few seconds and said, "Looks like a headband to me!" I'm now on my second picture. I was afraid I would get an agent who wouldn't let me wear it this time, but when I walked up for my new pic, the guy just grinned and said, "You ARE going to recreate your tiara pic, right?" so I did!

True! I usually ride Dumbo when I go because that was the special ride I always went on with my dad when I was little. He didn't mind that I only wanted to stay at one level for the first few years. I always say a silent "Love you, Dad!" when I ride it. He passed away several years ago.

TNP has witnessed a major incident of some sort at DLR that required quick action.

True-several years ago an older gentlemen had a medical emergency right in front of us as we were crossing over the POC bridge towards the Treehouse. A CM was alerted and a medical team and cart were there in what seemed like only 30 seconds, it was blazing fast. He was whisked away quickly and I can only hope made a full recovery. It was our first day of a 4-day trip, never saw anything on local news of the incident as we were always concentrating on the parks-but hope he was ok.

TNP has been caught in a ride break down and had to be escorted off.

True. We were stuck on Monsters Inc and had to walk through, starting from the sushi restaurant part of the attraction. It was pretty cool! The CM was very diligent to keep instructing us to only walk where he was walking.

TNP has rope dropped something that others usually don't do.

(Part of me has always wanted to blow everyone's mind and make a beeline for Pinocchio first thing in the morning. Move aside Peter Pan rope droppers! 😂)

False, I think. I really can't remember ever doing anything other than an A-list ride at rope drop. The possible exception would be when I went with my daughter and 3-year-old grandson. He was nuts about trains and that's what he wanted to go to right off the bat. I can't remember if we actually rope dropped, though.

TNP still has a childhood memento from DL (if this is true, please tell us what it is).

False. My first visit to DL was when I moved to LA at age 21, so all my childhood mementos are from WDW.

TNP has dined at Club 33.

False-but last trip we saw someone we know coming from there with a lot of merch (my DD Freshmen roommate). Likely tied to her job in the entertainment industry, so no invite coming, boo.

TNP is headed to a Halloween Party at the parks.

False. I used to go with my family every Halloween but now I avoid the parks at that time of year because of the crowds.

TNP has made new friend(s) at or because of DLR.

False-don't live close enough or go enough to make solid connections.

TNP has spent their Birthday at the parks.
Very true! I've spent my birthday at the parks almost every year since about 2007. It's in late Jan so typically, it has not been very busy although I used to run into high hotel rates due to the NAMM convention, but I think they may have changed the dates on that. Didn't affect crowds that I could tell but it sure made it harder to get a room unless you booked ahead.

As a kid, I always asked to go to DL for my birthday but it only happened twice. It was mostly just a day park back then.

TNP has thought about what it would be like to live in one of the apartments over the shops. Bonus if you dreamed of living at DL when you were a kid (or kid-at-heart).

True! I always wanted to live in the Palm Parlor building. It does have that glorious porch in addition to the typical Main Street charm 😊

TNP has a goal to meet a specific, rare character (mine is Marie!).

True, but it already happened! I met Cruella as a kid. 101 Dalmations is one of my faves (Lady and the Tramp being the other...do you see a theme here?!) and when I was younger we happened upon Cruella as she was wandering around. I'm not even sure if there is photographic proof anywhere, that's how long ago and how unexpected it was.

TNP has an attraction they've never experienced, not because they're afraid or dislike it (or because it's too new), but because the stars have never aligned.

True-I have never been on the Emotional Whirlwind. I will make it a point to make this happen in December.

TNP prefers the parks without the dressings as opposed to any holiday time decorations...
