Thanks once again for your comments
Onto our second day as husband and wife, and this was the last Disney park we had yet to visit on this trip: Hollywood Studios.
Our plan of action was to get in early and go straight to Toy Story Midway Mania to ride, so we arrived at 8.30 and met mum and dad.
At 8.45 we were stood at the end of the street waiting for rope drop. Once it had happened, we went with the crowds and got straight in the queue. We thought the queuing area was very impressive, and we walked straight through for most of the way until we got to the diversion for the disabled entrance. Once there we waited about 5 minutes for the disabled car to arrive.
Once on we had an absolute blast, and were determined to ride again on another day!
After we had ridden we heard from Rob and Row that they had arrived and decided the TSMM queue was too long, so they were going to the first showing of Playhouse Disney. Mum went in to find them, while Carl and I took Dad over to Rock n Roller Coaster. On the way past we got FPs for Tower of Terror, then waited about 40 minutes in the standby line for RnR (this time was as posted).
After the ride we strolled back to Playhouse Disney where Milli and Josh were meeting some of the characters: Little Einsteins, JoJo and Goliath, and Handy Manny.
As we had got 4 FPs for Tower of Terror we then took Robin and went and rode this - we were lucky to get a fantastic drop sequence - seemed to be quite a few big ones!
Meanwhile mum and Row took the kids to see Beauty and the Beast. After the ride, Carl and I got a frozen lemonade, which was fast becoming our drink of choice, lol!
While the others were still at B&B, we watched a bit of the In the Can street performance, which was quite funny. At 12pm, Carl and I left the others to go off on our own. We decided to head for the Great Movie Ride, just as it started to rain. The nearby HSM3 performance was cancelled just as we passed, so we turned into a run to make it to TGMR before all the crowds headed the same way! We got to the inside of the queue but stopped right at the back of the cinema room. Standby time in the queue was then about 25 minutes, but at least we were out of the rain. Our guide on the ride was a little underwhelming compared with guides we've had in the past, and just seemed to be going through the motions.
After this we decided to take a look at Star Tours and as the standby queue said 25 minutes, we waited. In the end it only took about 20 minutes. I'll be glad if they do update this as planned, as I'm a bit bored of the journey now, lol! I did like one particular message that flashed up on the screen in the queue, though - the Honeymoon of Endor!
On the way over to Star Tours, we were suddenly ambushed by some green army men, which made me jump, and then laugh madly!!
Next stop was Muppetvision 3D, where we had seats near the front for a change. On the way in I had to check that the key was still under the mat! We followed this up with meeting Lightning McQueen and Mater out in Luigi's garage.
After this we browsed the "shops" on the backlot!
Our next stop is a must-do for Carl - One Man's Dream. We always find this fascinating, especially looking at some of the scale models of the parks around the world. After we finished here it was about 4.15 and the last few days had caught up with us, so we headed back to the resort.
When we arrived back, we stocked up on some groceries for lunches and breakfasts (bagels, peanut butter, cream cheese, milk) and ordered a pizza to share for our dinner. We also bought a salad, and enjoyed this in our room.
Next we wandered over to Riverside to see if they had any availability for a carriage ride, but they were fully booked so we spent some time playing in the arcade - Guitar Hero, pinball and air hockey! - before heading back.
We finished the day by eating some wedding cake along with a couple of beers that we'd bought in the supermarket earlier in the week while watching the documentary "Octomom".
Tomorrow was to be our first non-Disney park day - Seaworld
