Congrats on your first solo trip. My first solo trip was my best ever and I'm still reflecting on it (have many hours on video tape and have watched it occasionally especially since I am going back soon). IMO it was so nice not to have to consider anyone's particular issues. It was so very nice to just do exactly what I wanted, when I wanted and as many times as I wanted. No one complaining about wait times, feet hurting, sunlight, etc., etc. I took breaks when I needed them and ate what I wanted as well. I do take a journal to write in and a book as well and I did do several dinners in sitdown rest. and never felt out of place.
There was also a few times that I ran into other solo travelers and rode a ride or two with them (this lady and I were both waiting for PoC and both sat in the back seat, well we started talking about the difference between PoC in CA and FL, then the family in front of us asked us to be quiet as it was his sons first ride and he wanted him to hear everything, think we were having a bit too much fun but we waited until the ride ended and talked for a bit). I've always had nice conversations with CM's and a few people in front of me or in back of me in line.
As Claudia stated above, best to go to bathroom before heading to rest., I've had them take a dessert away (already paid for meal) thinking I had left (just had a few bites).
As for staying at POFQ, you'll feel safe. Most of the time, unless your roaming around at 2 or 3 a.m. there are other people outside getting fresh air, talking on the phone, heading to do clothes, smoking, etc. My solo trip, I stayed at POR and there was only one time that I felt a little nervous and that was when I used the back bus station behind my mansion ( I was back there by myself heading to DTD around 9:00 p.m. and waited for about 20 minutes for the bus). You can hear noises from the woods which is what made me slightly uneasy but it is mostly small noises from birds and an occasional rabbit hopping on the leaves, branches, etc. After that I just decided to catch the bus from the front of the resort if I left at night (20 or so people out there). You shouldn't have this problem at POFQ as the bus stop is out front.
As for PI, I always followed other people towards the bus stop so I was never really alone.
Have a wonderful trip.
