Hi friends, whos ready for another Missyrose and Pixel Dust trip report? There are lots of fun firsts coming your way in this story: Our first summer trip, our first stay at the Villas at the Grand Floridian and our very first trip to Diagon Alley at Universal Studios!
But before we really get the party started, lets make some introductions for those who may be new around here.
Thats me on the left. Im Missy, the 32-year-old Disney-aholic.
To fund my Disney habit, I work as an editor in the sports department of a newspaper in Washington D.C. I love all things sports, pop culture and, of course, The Mouse. My favorite Disney character is Minnie Mouse. My favorite Walt Disney World ride is Big Thunder Mountain. And my favorite Disney snack? Caseys corndog nuggets.
My partner in crime (and my loving husband!) is Franklin, a.k.a. Pixel Dust here on the Dis.
He is also 32 and works for an architecture firm to pay the Disney bills. His passions are cars (both the lower-cased cars and the movie Cars) and photography.
Guido from Cars is his favorite Disney character. And he could ride Expedition Everest all day if given the chance.
We had some new faces with us on this trip, too!
Thats my dad, Irv, on the right. His favorite Disney ride is Space Mountain and his favorite Disney movie is 101 Dalmatians. Toasting with him is his girlfriend, Michelle. Her favorite ride is Splash Mountain and shes a Cinderella kind of woman.
Chelsea, Michelles daughter, rounds out our intrepid Disney crew. She loves Space Mountain and can watch Sleeping Beauty over and over again.
Now that you know the who, lets give you the rest of the trip data:
When: August 23-30
Where: Villas at the Grand Floridian (and a bonus night at Bay Lake Tower)!
Why: Villains Unleashed, Frozen Summer Fun and so much more!
Where did this trip report title come from? The most unlikely source: My dad! He, Michelle and Chelsea got a kick out of (jokingly) making fun of how much Franklin and I know (obsess, really) about Disney. We were out one night and we heard fireworks in the distance and Dad said, with all the confidence of a Disney pro, I can spot Frozen fireworks anywhere! We all dissolved into laughter and we knew the TR had its name.
And like all of my previous trip reports, Ill make you this promise: Youll laugh, youll cry, but mainly, youll wish you were in Orlando RIGHT NOW!
