And the winner is Vero Beach.

Looks like we will be taking our March vacation at Vero Beach. We were really considering Hilton Head, but I would really like a chance of putting my toes in the water without getting frostbite. Hilton Head in March is so unpredictable.

Been doing a little RandMcnally.com searching and found that Cape Canaveral is 1 1/2 hour drive. Everglades is 2+ hour drive. Sea world is 1 1/2 hour drive. (Never can seem to go when we are in Orlando - can't get away from the parks). Any other suggestions for those "Can't get DH and DS in another store" days. We usually do one (maybe two) road trip(s) on our non-park vacations.

Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales. It is (or at least was at one time) the highest point in the state of Florida.

The visual centerpiece of this magnificent garden is Bok's Singing Tower, an unrivaled work of art reaching 205' into the sky. Built to house a 60-bell carillon, the Tower's untouchable beauty intrigues visitors alike. Constructed of pink and gray marble from Georgia and coquina stone from St. Augustine, the Tower is rich in carvings depicting the flora and fauna of Florida.

Recitals are heard daily at 3 p.m. with clock music on the half-hour starting at 10 a.m. The Tower is closed to the public, but visitors may enjoy permanent exhibits in the Education and Visitor Center depicting the interior of the Tower as well as the carillon instrument.
