Hato caves on Curacao on our own

I'd love to do the Hato Caves on Curacao, but there aren't enough spots on the tour and anyway, it seems like you spend an hour at the caves and they whisk you off to a beach for the rest. I just want to see the caves.

Does anyone know if there is a local tour that would do just to the caves and back to the port? Or, is it easy to get a cab and go there on our own?

Explore the Tours by Locals site and maybe even contact one of the tour guides for that area. Because the guides are independent, they can potentially create a tour that works for what you are interested in. The guides are not restricted by their employer to only offer specific tours.
[search under “find a tour” using the hamburger menu (3 stacked lines) in the upper right corner… I searched using the single word: “Curaçao” and got many results… most of which said they offer custom tours to do what you want to do. I tried to search under “cruise excursions”, but that didn’t seem to be working]
