Good Morning DIS Convention Friends!!!

I very rarely visit this board, actually forget it is here sometimes, and was just catching up on all the posts. My DH and I are so excited about this DIS convention trip to Disney. I can't wait until more details are released. We are arriving a day early, on November 27, and also added three nights to the end of the convention, leaving on December 5. We decided to make this trip our combo Christmas/anniversary presents to each other. I can't wait to put faces to some of the names on the boards, and just to meet you guys in person. I think this convention is just going to be so much fun!! We're going to be staying at Port Orleans-Riverside for the first five nights, which I've never stayed at, but am excited about, as I think it will look very pretty decorated for Christmas, then we will switch to VWL for the last three nights, as we just became new DVC members. Looking forward to meeting everyone soon; only 7 1/2 months to go!!

If you take the time to read through some of these threads, you'll see that most of them are just like your's....by DIS'ers who are just so, so excited about this DIS convention that we come here just say so...LOL

TeresaNJ, I am looking forward to meeting lots of new people from the Dis.. This is a beautiful time to visit WDW, the Christmas decorations are beautiful, and we have some special things planned.. So, I am sure these 7 months will fly by..

Finding it hard to wait! I've been to WDW twice before, but neither time had I done homework. Oh, the second trip was planned out by Disney as my son won a trip there for the first Friendship Day Celebration. Disney had an itenerary so the free time was good to just check places out. This trip though, will be so much different. I've saved for two years for this WDW trip, so when the convention was offered, I jumped on it. I had planned so many different dates and changed my mind several times. Now I can't change my mind and we'll have several events to attend that we wouldn't have went to otherwise. We've never seen WDW decorated for Christmas, (my favorite time of the year!) I collect Christmas ornaments, I especially LOVE handmade ornaments. At one point we had discussed each of us bringing an ornimant and selling them with all proceeds going to the Children's fund(not exactly sure of it's name, but the DIS supports them) I may add a new thread for it and see if it still is something folks would be interested in and then we can go from there.
I can't wait to meet everyone either, but I'm terrible with names and hope I don't embarass myself when I call Dan M. Mac key Mouse Gerri
