Fave non-park day activities

Split stay between CBR and Wilderness Lodge in August. We have a few rest days planned this trip, and would love to explore different resorts. Other than pool time, what are your fave things to do at any resort on non-park days? 2 adults, 2 teens.

We did a transportation day last trip, went on the Skyliner, Monorail, Ferry, etc. Stopped at different resorts for ice cream/desserts. It was a nice activity for a hot day, we saw so much that we had never seen before!

Love this idea, thanks!

Your kids may be a little old but the campfire and singalong with chip and dale at Fort Wilderness is fun. The Boardwalks fun at night. Check out the decor at AoA via the skyliner. AKL has a ton of stuff to do (tours, activities, good food) plus the animals. Take the boat from WL to Contemporary and take the monorail to the other resorts. Lots of fun to be had on non park days.

Ask the front desk or concierge CMs at WL for a list of the totem poles and artifacts in the WL lobby and enjoy exploring. You can also go to the Boulder Ridge building next to WL to see some of Walt's backyard railroad train cars in the sitting room on the first floor.

Consider going over to CR and renting a pontoon boat to boat around Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake. We also love going over to Ft. W to visit the stables, kayak/canoe, rent bikes, go for a walk, etc. We always eat QS over there - love the fried chicken. Also consider doing Hoop Dee Doo one night and scheduling a wagon ride post-show. If you visit these resorts prior to 3 pm, you can take a boat to MK and then walk or monorail to CR or take a boat to Ft. W. After 3 pm, you can take a boat to CR and Ft. W directly from WL.

If you do a monorail crawl, consider arriving at Poly around 1:45 pm to get your name on the list for Trader Sam's - the inside lounge is really fun with great effects when people order special drinks (they also serve non-alcoholic drinks/mocktails). The apps are really good too.

If you like pastries and you do a Skyliner tour, highly recommend going to the cafe in the RIV lobby for pastries/desserts and their signature banana-chocolate bread (can also be found in their QS).
