Here are links to two permits at Disneyland. The first is a demolition permit for the Grand Californian Hotel to "remove architectural overhangs and portion of roof sections to prepare structure for new addition." The second permit is for a remodel of the sales model unit located between the Paradise Pier and Disneyland hotels.

While not definitive, I'd say that's pretty compelling.

Some will argue that link2 could just refer to them remodeling to the new AKV rooms, since that's what will be selling for awhile.

But I tend to think you're right...this is the initial permits to get DL DVC on it's way.

True, but why not build the model sooner? AKV model at was built during the late fall and winter. The Chicago model just opened. If it was for AKV one would think it would have been built in the same timeframe of the other models.
