Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Thank you so much re the wraps.
Disappointing re the showers, not really the place to have a proper wash after the pool but before a 9 hour flight home!!!

You are preaching to the choir! Really aggravating decision not to let resort guests use the spa locker room. It has something to do with the spa being operated independently from Disney.

There are rumours that a poolside shower room is planned to be built, but I don't have any information about where or when.

:confused3

Seriously think Disney are going to need to cull some of those big black crows ( not sure if that's what they are but its what they look like). They were seriously invading certain parts of the area especially close to lunchtime and quite aggressive in their quest for snacks. 2 of them lifted a whole unopened family pack of chips from a stroller and then loads of them joined in until they managed to rip the package ! I was watching from the safety of the pool because when it comes to birds flying at me I'm a big chicken lol

That is CRAZY! And scary! I think we'll just leave our snacks in the room!

I do, however, get amused at the pictures of the stroller thieves (aka squirrels) in the parks. :D

Hi! A few questions, we will be arriving August 28th-Sept 4th

I read on facebook that they were doing a refurb at the bust stops at BOTH BC and YC bus stops, when I came on here the first page just said YC. Is it true? or will both being getting refurbed? And if so would BC be done before Aug 28th?

Hurricane Hannahs is only serving breakfast through August 14th?

Does the marketplace still sell the smaller cases of bottled water?
Thanks!

As of Wednesday, work was only taking place at the YC bus stop. The timeframe we have heard for this is 3 weeks.

We haven't heard anything about work on the BC stop (but we don't always know about work until it has started).

Right now, that is the end date we have heard for the breakfast at HH. It will be awesome if they extend it! I would love to see an additional quick-serve breakfast option.

Yes, cases of water should be available at the Marketplace, and Fittings & Fairings (Yacht Club) for under $7. They usually only have one or two out on the shelf at a time, so if you don't see it, ask a Cashier or other CM at the Marketplace.

:goodvibes

We wrapped up our 3 day Disneyland trip yesterday, it was a wonderful time but it doesn't compare to Dinsey World to us. We stayed at a Good Neighbor hotel, Candy Cane Inn, and the first thing my husband said was "Well this sure isn't the Beach Club!" :rotfl:It was perfectly fine though, clean, close to the parks, free parking and free breakfast. We sure did miss the Beach Club though. We ran into a lot of rude people there, more so than DW, and the line cutters were ridiculous! We had a family of 14 cut in front of us. The reason I know it was a family of 14....cause I said something :rolleyes2. I normally keep to myself but I just couldn't hold my tongue. But over all we had a great time and are looking forward to our up coming Diney World trips, especially the Beach Club :jumping1:

During my trip earlier this month, I tried Amazon Prime Now (two-hour delivery) and it worked really well. I ordered water, yogurt, and toothpaste (my kids didn't like the toothpaste that I brought, so for $3 I ordered a new large tube).

Would highly reccomend it!

So no problem getting your things? Was the delivery to Bell Services?

I first read about this service a few weeks ago and someone staying at the YC/BC used it, but it took him a couple of days to get his stuff because they weren't looking in the right place when he asked.

Can you share some of the details?

Was there a delivery cost/tip? Minimum order?

You need to be an Amazon Prime customer, right?

:thumbsup2

A friend posted this blog post on FB this morning. Look at them all yakking about our "Secret" entrance!

I am curious also. :) I just checked out the website and they don't seem to have fresh fruit or vegetables though which is a giant bummer.

I checked it out too when I first saw it here. The one thing that turned me off (but would probably be AWESOME to others) is that items like bread and milk were only organic, and organic=more expensive.

Has anyone taken an Uber to/from the Speedway (former Hess station) outside the Boardwalk? I can walk there just want a ride back but I know it seems a little ridiculous, I'm not sure if they can pick me up there.

I would ask at the front desk. My friends had concerns about that too during our last visit. They said if there was an empty room, they could give us access to that to shower, change, etc. If not, maybe see if you can get access to the gym at BWI. I used those showers after check-out last weekend and they were very nice. They had nice H20 products and large size towels as well as lockers to store items. I agree, it's not a proper shower for a deluxe resort when values (minus the product in the shower) even have proper showers and changing rooms.

The late check out is 1:00 PM. We have requested and received our past several trips. Very helpful.

Request upon check-in. If there is availability they will be able to accommodate. Your best chance to receive is to request during check-in.
Yes. I received late check out at POFQ last month. It is so nice to have, if you can get it.

Happy dancing as we were able to reserve an Illuminations Cruise for next one. Shh...I haven't told DS or DH yet.

Has anyone had experience with ordering private dinning from the Yacht Club for the Cruise? In my initial phone call I was offered a veggie plate and chicken nuggets. Um...Looking for something a little bit more interesting. They promised to send a menu but I haven't seen anything yet.

TIA!

Correct--No problem getting our things. Yes, they went to Bell Services. We did two deliveries (one from the airport as we waited to leave for the trip on July 1 and the other on July 4). The first delivery person, sent me a text saying that our stuff was with Bell Services. That really helped when we got there because the front desk said that all deliveries are at the Yacht Club Convention Center. I pushed and asked them to check Bell Services since I got a text. So, that text really helped. I also got separate texts from Amazon Prime saying my stuff was delivered.

When I ordered on July 4, I got to pick my 2-hour delivery window and was able to order while sitting at the pool. I am pretty sure I could even track on a map where the delivery was. Which was nice! I meant to get out of the pool and meet the delivery guy (it's like Uber where the Amazon Now App lets you know who your driver is) but I forgot and Bell Services took delivery. I didn't get the package for about 40 more minutes. BCV left us a message on our voicemail and then eventually the package made its way to our room.

I believe the minimum order is $20 and the 2-hour delivery time frame is free. If you want delivery within an hour, that's an extra $5, I think. So, it's still not too bad. As far as tipping, both times, the app suggested $5. One order was $41 and the other was $21. If the $21 order was *not* on a holiday, I probably would have lowered it. But, I thought who wants to be out, running around delivering stuff to tourists on July 4?!

I'm pretty sure anyone can download the app without being an Amazon Prime customer if anyone wants to poke around. You need to add an Amazon Prime Now zip code--I used 32830 in Orlando. I will say that prices *do* change. I had items in my cart for a good 6-8 weeks before my trip (I would just add stuff when I thought of it) and received notifications when a price went up or down. Right now a 1-liter bottle of Smart Water is $1.52 and Chobani yogurt is $.89. The same Chobani is $1.99 at the Garden Grocer right now.

I will say that Amazon Prime Now doesn't have a great (any?) selection of fresh fruits. I would have loved fresh strawberries or blueberries!

Yes, I am fairly certain that you need to be an Amazon Prime customer. And I do love Amazon Prime, too!

Thank you so much for the detailed info. I will try to link your post with additional details to the delivery info in the FAQ on Page 1. Seems like another helpful delivery option for Disney vacationers.

Disappointing re the showers, not really the place to have a proper wash after the pool but before a 9 hour flight home!!!

We spent time at the pool in our last day and just requested a late checkout so we could all have a quick shower before leaving. We then simply HAD to dander into Epcot one last time and ruined it all by getting hot and sweaty all over again :rotfl2::rotfl2:

It's ok to bring snacks as long as you keep them in a zipped up bag when not eating. The birds are more aggressive at the loungers and tables near the treeline.

Has anyone requested a late check out at YC and if so until what time? Thanks

We got a late checkout. Free until 1pm after which there is a fee apparently. Didn't think to ask how much the fee was as 1pm was fine for us :)

Does anyone know if you can order just a side of fries at Hurricane Hannah's? Also, are the sandwiches pre-made or made to order and you can request something left off?

Thank you. In deep planning mode now, lol.

Sandwiches are made to order and yes you can just get a side of fries. You can also trade out either the drink or dessert ( or both) for extra fries when using a QS meal. We often traded the drink out and shared meals as we had our mugs with us and used them for drinks. We always asked to come back for the dessert after we'd eaten main meal so out Mickey bars didn't melt :thumbsup2

If you are staying for a longer trip you may need to call down closer to your departure day. I asked at checkin and was told to call back a day or two before leaving. I called back 3 days beforehand and got it sorted then :)
