Are there generally any major tour groups at Pop at the end of January?
Yes. It's quite common for the 15's to be there at the same time. That being said we were there with them in 2018, stayed in the same building as some of them and had ZERO problems! They were very kind and respectful the 8 days we were there. We are booked for late Jan 2022 and I'm not at all concerned with being there at the same time they may be.

we were there with them that year too and I was amazed at how lovely they were. Their leader held them back from getting on the bus at one of the parks until the families got on. The kids were very sweet. They were tired on the bus - standing and holding the straps and laying their heads on their arms resting. I think it is an action packed trip for them but they didn’t bother us a bit. That being said I wouldn’t have wanted to be in line behind them in a ride or anything because wait times immediately would jump up but they were not rowdy like in years past.

The 15s have not been able to come to WDW since January 2020.

VERY doubtful the Covid situation will be improved enough for them to make their return in January 2022.

What are the 15’s?

What are the 15’s?

The 15s are Tour Groups of South American girls celebrating their 15th Birthday.

They are FAMOUS for their matching Backpacks and shirts and for their LARGE numbers!

Most are given the choice of a LARGE party at home or a trip to WDW(some will also go to NYC and Miami and Bahamas)and,in addition to WDW,most will also go to Universal,Sea World,Busch Gardens, etc.

Some will also have Private Parties(some with South American entertainers)as well as Quinceanera celebrations in World ShowPlace.

The largest numbers,BY FAR,are from Brazil and Argentina with smaller numbers from Uruguay,Paraguay,Chile,Venezuela, etc.

It is VERY interesting when Brazil and Argentina encounter each other-they DO NOT like each other-mainly because of Soccer.

Their rivalry is like Alabama v. Auburn or Ohio State v. Michigan on STEROIDS!:)

The "main" months for the migration of The 15s are July for their Winter Break and January/February for their Summer Break.

I am very familiar with The 15s as we go every July for my Birthday and,for the most part, they are really nice young ladies, but they can get "out of hand" at times!lol:)

They now use Private Buses alot and that has helped greatly as has the introduction of the Super Greeters in July.

I present to you the LEGENDARY PHENOMENON KNOWN AS THE 15s!lol:)

Thank you @WEDWDW that was a great explanation. I'm kind of sad i'm going to miss them since i'm going in October. :-)
You're welcome.

The 15s really are something to see!lol

They look forward to their WDW Trip their ENTIRE lives-the excitement and "enthusiasm" they have for WDW is unmatched.

Here are the Mugs,Water and Snacks for a just arriving group of 15s one year.(All-Star Sports but similar scenes happen at Pop Century)

It is an EVENT when they roll into a WDW Resort!lol

Are we all pretty much under the same assumption that no resort discounts will come out for oct? I decided to book a weekend for my bday and pop is 210 for a std, which is insane, but also only resort under 375. I also booked off prop for much less just in case.

Pop has been full since early spring so I wouldn’t anticipate sales. Many are cancelling but not sure if it’s enough for them to bring out any deals, especially with the 50th.

I managed to apply the current room only promo for Pop to my existing reservation (after checking for months!) towards the end of Sept, and with that discount I am paying for a Preferred some nights are $207, some $217, but the weekends are almost $240, so in average they say it's around $218 I think it quoted. And that's with the discounts. So you can see around how much of a difference it might be, which I don't think it's way too much, although I know every bit helps! And Pop has been extremely popular so having a room feels like being lucky! Hope they do have something for you.

Thanks for your great job with all the info! This will be our 2nd time staying here and it has been awhile. Nice to see everything so nicely laid out! :flower1:

Yea I booked a std which I am fine with but knowing my friend just paid 140 a night is hurting my disney math brain.i may just move off property, I was even thinking checking swan or dolphin to compare .. esp when I can stay at a premier universal for 238 a night with ap discount

$140 a night is amazing! Like old times. Pop has gotten more popular and expensive thanks to the Skyliner and that is probably one of the main reasons we haven't pulled the plug and stayed offsite. We love how easy it makes things for Epcot and HS. I think it's just a matter of analyzing if what you're paying is worth what you would get and expect.

You might want to keep an eye on Hotwire/Priceline in case any deals come up on there closer to time. I’m assuming they won’t due to the 50th, but you never know. Might be worth periodically checking!
