what is non-disney property?
i understand there is an additional $75 to use points at non-disney property
at non-disney property there is also a minimum use of 1 week?
what else is the difference? sorry im just catching on

Any of the Disney Collection resorts do not require any extra fee for an exchange. The Concierge Collection, Cruises, II exchanges, and Adventurer Collection all have a $75 charge to initiate the exchange.

The Concierge Collection hotels and B&Bs can be booked for as little as one night. Most of the timeshare trades are for weekly blocks but I think that sometimes there are exceptions to this as well.

Any Disney owned hotel at one of its theme parks (excluding Tokyo) is part of the Disney Collection to which there is no $75 fee. The Disney Collection also includes the cruise ships but the fee does apply to those. The Disney Concierge Collection consists of nummerous resorts and hotels not owned by Disney which are located throughtout the US, Hawaii, and some in England. The $75 fee applies to those; minimum stay is 1 night. The Adventurer Collection (want to do an African Safari, Alaskan cruise, white water rafting?) has the $75 fee and has minimum stays that go with the particular adventure that you choose (6 days to 13). The rest is Interval International (or similar) timeshare trades and for those you very often need to go a week (because you are trading into a timeshare where the owner owns a particular week). The $75 fee applies to those and you may need to have enough points for a week in a 1BR at DVC to make some trades.

If you're trying to trade into a 2BR unit at an Interval International resort, you will need to have enough points for a week in a 2BR at DVC -- not necessarily at your home DVC resort, and not necessarily at the same time of year. If you're trying to trade into a studio or 1BR, you need enough points for a DVC studio or 1BR. And there must actually be availabilty of such a week, because Member Services books an actual week using your points, and deposits that week with Interval International.
