Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2024 Edition

"could" is different than actually doing it. This sounds like a lot of fluff to me.
Agree. Lots and lots of hot air, but no M-O-N-E-Y. "...if we wanted to." What in the world kind of remark is that? As we all have clearly seen in the past two, parks are making the money that is keeping the company afloat. But there's doubt about where to deploy future capital?

I think it's just a nothing burger statement. It's not an announcement for anything so there's nothing to get worked up about.

Making DLR/DCA half again larger would be a monumental project. Maybe demolishing the existing parking structures on the western side and buying the convention center property across Katella for a new parking area. Would take years and years.

Bob Iger today discussed the “Avatar experience” he announced last year that is planned for Disneyland Resort - and today he indicated it will be a land.“We have one Avatar-based land, Pandora, in Florida. We’re going to put a second one in California. That doesn't mean we can't put one somewhere in Asia or Europe for instance”
Soooo, a new land as part of the DisneylandForward expansion?

I'm all for expanding DLR/DCA as much as possible, but it seems that with all the space available at WDW, that would be the logical place for any quick expansion.
Sure, but land isn't the only consideration. They must think there is still more untapped market on the West Coast. And they probably want to get things going there while Anaheim City Council is on friendly terms!

Universal chose to spend money in Florida rather than Hollywood. A lot of money. I guess we'll see which management team made the best decision.

It makes more sense. They don't really have any space in Hollywood anymore and they're probably getting more for their money in FL.

I've been to USO more times than I've been USH and I live 45 min away from USH. I've only gone twice - once when I was a kid and again about 10 years ago. It has nothing to attract (I don't do coasters) and is very expensive for the small # of attractions. I have gone to HHN there a few times but that doesn't really count as a regular park visit.

Well, it's not like the Disney company hasn't spent billions in Florida. They practically created the economy of central FL. They still have a lot of assets there that aren't going anywhere. And I don't think expanding at Disneyland soon will mean they won't spend money at WDW later. Anyway, if there will be expansions at any of the US parks soon, we likely won't know until the D23 event in August.

Looks like there no longer is an omelet station.

Am I the only one who doesn't like the Strawberry Soup? I know it's their signature thing, but I wouldn't have cared if it hadn't returned. 😁
I’m with you on this. Can’t see it in my future.

Maybe it’s not the full menu. I don’t see any eggs other than eggs Benedict and I don’t think everyone likes those. No mickey waffles either which is usually pretty standard on a Disney breakfast buffet.
I'm hoping you are right about this. I don't like runny yokes at all. Scrambled or omelets for me please. Also like the waffles/pancakes, bacon, sausage. Pretty boring really Lol.
