We stayed right above that room last year. It's a great location. Skip excursions & enjoy your cruise.

Can't speak to the room but as for "must dos"...my daughter was 7 when we cruised last year and the "Midship Detective" game was a HUGE hit for her! Its super cute and a great way to familiarize yourself with the layout of the ship. She also LOVED kids club and would have gone there probably every hour of the day if we'd let her :) We didn't spend any time at the pool really but she enjoyed the Aqua Duck coaster. As for excursions, we did the Dolphin Encounter (at 7, she'll be too young for the "Swim") and it was AMAZING! Enjoy your trip!

Congratulations on booking a cruise for your family. If it's your first cruise, just relax and enjoy the service, food, and entertainment. It is the best. If you are crafty, you and your DD could make magnets to decorate your storeroom door. Plenty of online sites to see what "Disney cruise decorated doors" look like. They must be magnets, no tape. Have fun.

We did the Blue Lagoon beach day on our first cruise. Its in the same area as the Dolphin Encounter. We had a blast!!!

Our first time on the Dream we were 2 adults and DD who was 7. She loved the midship detective agency, trying new things at dinner, and the shows. She is basically a fish so she DH spent the entire Castaway Key day in the water. We enjoyed the Graycliff chocolate tour in Nassau. She wasn't a huge fan of the kids clubs. She felt they were too noisy and chaotic for her taste, but I would encourage you to have your DD give them a try. Some kids love them and never want to leave. My DD felt that way when she moved up to Edge, the tween space.
