DDA Weight Loss Progress Thread

I have seen other DISers talking about a weight loss support system and it seems that I have finally found it. I am 4'11" and weight more than I should. I am hoping to lose atleast 10 lbs before we go to Disney in November (the end of the month) I have started walking, drinking more water and of course cutting my food intake. Smaller portions is my goal. It's wonderful to know that there is a support system here. I wish you all the very best of luck in reaching your weightloss goals.

Looks like I had another good week. Not as good as the last :rolleyes1 , but I lost 3lbs, so I am very happy :yay:
Now I just need to get off the sauce, the chocolate sauce that is!! :rotfl2:

That's a great start. It's nice to have new blood to motivate us old timers :goodvibes I've been sick for the better part of 2 weeks now and I have not been eating well or exercising at all. Heck some days I do well to just stay awake. Hopefully this cold is passing and I will be back on track with all of you.

Way to go!!!:cheer2: It has taken me 3 months to lose 15lbs, but hey they are off right? :woohoo: Small steps are best, and hey we are all here if you need us. Good luck!! :banana:
 
Okay I decided to join I have a lot to lose!!! I am gonna start my goal off small though. So I am starting with 25 lbs.

Where do I find a ticker?

I have been watched my my dr for the last year, my dr has submitted my for to specialist to have gastric bypass surgery but I am very scared.

I am scared it is gonna shorten my life, or mess with my health too much. But could it really be worse than being over geight on the edge of have diabetes tired all the fime, headaches, knee pain horrible hurting feet?

I try to get plenty of excersice but my knees lock up on me and can even walk across the room, dr said i am getting arthritis.

Congrats on your weight loss goal! You can do it!

Just FYI, I had gastric bypass surgery almost 5 years ago, and it was the best thing I could ever have done for myself. I lost 100 pounds, and gained so much self-esteem. It was hard, but I had tried everything, and due to a medical condition, the gastric bypass was the only solution. If you need to talk to someone about the surgery, feel free to PM me. I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have!
 
Ok so its been a little while since I've been on here, but I have an update. As of 10/25 i have lost about 20 lbs!!!:cheer2: I am sooo happy. I still have a way to go. But my clothes feel better and so do I. Oh and my DH is way happy too. :rotfl2: Thank to everyonce here, you all rock!:flower3:

My weight has been going in the wrong direction, but I only have myself to blame! I keep saying I need to get back on track, but so far I have not been listening to myself.

That's awesome :cool1: :cool1: I think I've found most of them though :sad2: I really need to get back on the bandwagon.
 
I just posted in a thread on the WISH part on here, but I"ll post here too, I just started alli, my dr recommended it, I followed the book that came with it, and started the low fat part before the pills, started the pills yesterday. My one week weigh in was down 2 lbs, so not too bad for the first week! I feel alot different, better different, i have energy to do things I couldn't do before, and feel great! Good luck to everyone, and I'll keep checking in!!

My DH tried Alli a while ago. He had cut most of the fat out of his diet already and didn't really notice a difference by adding in the Alli. The key is certainly intake.
 
Chris and I went back on a Weight Watchers diet last Wednesday. We are doing well sticking to it. I will weight in on Wednesday, before going to 2 Thanksgiving dinners :eek:
 
Good luck with the 2 thanksgiving dinners!!! I noticed the key with me is portion control, if i can control that, i'm doing really good!! The holidays are definedly hard, cause I can eat a whole pumpkin pie AND tub of cool whip myself!!! So definedly smaller pieces, lite cool whip, and smaller portions of the bad stuff. I'm making desserts for my family, always do, so I gotta not taste as i go along this year!! :)

My family usually requests that I bring a dessert too. I've learned to make diet friendly ones and shhhh, but no one ever knows the difference:lmao:
 
so, how did everyone do over Thanksgiving? I did fine, watched my portions, even with the desserts. Since starting this diet in Nov, I'm down 8lbs!! :cool1: I have a new short term goal of being down to 155 by the time DH comes home in 35 days. I have about 10 lbs to go. I've scoped out a longer walking course here in the neighborhood that is exactly a mile...I just gotta deal with the cold, and get out there and DO it!! :) I hope everyone is still doing good, just wanted to check in!! :goodvibes
 
I'm not really trying :blush: I've decided to wait until the new year. Of course my New Year's Resolution will be to lose weight. The good news is that I have always been successful with that resolution in the past. I just need the motivation.

Same here Deb! I have totally blown it, so I am going to try & do better after the holidays ::yes::
