Day 5 - Thursday 27th March
We both woke up about 7.10am and couldn't believe today was our last day in the Magic. We spent 10 minutes or so led in bed checking Facebook and e-mails before getting ready for breakfast, we were trying to avoid the queue that we'd been caught in yesterday! Thankfully it worked and we didn't have to wait long to be seated. We were in Inventions again which was fab.
As it was the last day I thought I'd start it well with a nice cooked selection, this certainly filled me up ready for the day ahead! This little lot ended up in the roll, I forgot the cheese though!
We popped back to our room to pack up the last few things and work out the puzzle of how to get what was left of my Birthday cake back home without it ending up as a chocolatey mess!
I virtually had to sit on my case to get the zip done up! I didn't think I bought that much stuff!
We popped our bags down stairs to leave them for the day, we contemplated having them sent to the station, but decided it was no problem to collect them later on.
We couldn't not go to the main park on our last day, so we snuck in while it was still EMH. We looked again at getting on Dumbo, but the queue was already long, the teacups however had a far smaller queue, so this is where we headed, Eeyore included!
We span the cup as fast as we could and watched the park fly by as a blur! We could barely walk a straight line when we got off! We really are the biggest kids ever!
Another daily tradition was BTMRR, but today was the first time I'd gone to the rope drop for Frontierland. I noticed how they wait until exactly 10am to drop the rope and it's not dropped until after the official park opening.
After the rope drop we followed the masses, only to find BTMRR closed due to technical problems. Totally gutted! We were given the option to queue outside or come back later, we opted to wait for 15 mins to see if they got it going, I'm glad we did as about 10 minutes later the CM's got the nod and we were allowed on! YAY! We'd been queuing with a lovely Brit and she walked with us onto the ride. We followed the handy hint of going left (got plenty of looks for that one!) and ended up on the first train of the day!
We decided that we needed some galactic fun and headed to Star Tours, we do love this ride, but wish there was an English version (or that I spoke better French!) As we left the arcade I caught a glimpse of a Goofy Hat and being nosey I wandered over and tucked behind Videopolis was Goofy, Pluto, Chip, Dale, Minnie & Stitch! How could we resist going to get some photos when there was virtually no one around!?!
Mum met Pluto (again)
and I got to meet Goofy!
People had began to realise the characters were there and it became a little crowded so we went to sit on a nearby wall with a drink and watch the expressions of the young children, I just love it. I really hope one day to have kids of my own to share this magic with.
While watching though, one character was looking a little sad and lonely and no one seemed to want to have their photo taken with them, so I jumped up and went to cheer them up...
Having cheered Stitch up we decided to wave a final goodbye to the main park and go and get our Studio Park fix.
Our first stop was to use our hotel fast pass on TOT and Mathilde was working again today and spotted up in the queue. When we got closer to the lifts she ran off to get another CM and proceeded to tell her all about the antics from the previous evening!
Our lift was extra special today as it was played fully in English! I have been on this round countless times and have NEVER heard it in English, absolutely fantastic!
We came straight of TOT and headed to get a fast pass to go on again, while we were hunting out our tickets though we were approached by a gentleman who asked us in broken English if we were 2 people & when we replied yes, he handed us 2 fastpasses for now! WINNER! We of course thanked him a lot and got straight back in the queue!
When we got off this time, we got our own fast passes for between 14.45-15.15 and headed off to ride RNR. This is another favourite ride of mine and really needs to music in the carriages to make it, thankfully they were working this time!
We decided to watch Stars and Cars for the 2nd time this trip before checking the wait time for RC car. Unfortunately it was showing 25 minutes (we suspected more though!) and we knew if we joined the queue we would be likely to miss of fast pass slot for TOT. Instead we opted to get our selves a hot choc and sit and watch TOT while enjoying the sun shine.
14.45 came and we joined the queue for the 3rd time today and the very last time of our trip. We saw Mathilde again and said our good byes, I hope I get the opportunity to meet her again!
With not enough time left to go on any more rides we mooched through the shop in Studio 1 before leaving the park.
We nipped into World of Disney and bought a Minnie Mouse pen for my friend before heading back to the hotel to collect our bags. We decided to go and use the facilities before going to the station (might as well use the luxury ones!) and ended up in the gift shop as well! I purchased 1 last item, an elastic Mickey Mouse bracelet that I'd eyed up earlier in the week.
We caught the end of The Decent of the Stairs when we left the shop and watched it from the 2nd floor. Mum and I got a little excited when we saw Genie, we'd never seen the Genie!
With our bags collected, we sorrily dragged them to the station. We could check in straight away which was lovely, but we were subject to a bag security check with the sniffer dog. Is this standard in France? With this being our first Eurostar experience, we weren't sure if this was the norm!
With the security check clear we moved towards the platforms, but weren't allowed to board yet, I wish there was a nice seating area like at St Pancras though!
Once boarded I spent the time before we departed writing up today's antics (in the princess note book that I got from my Secret Santa on here!)
Our food was served not long after departure, I chose the cheeses and mum had a beef meal.
The pudding was absolutely scrummy as was the coffee! So much so that the lovely lady serving us bagged us up some of the sachets so that we could take them home with us! I will definitely be traveling by Eurostar again! Fantastic service!
Upon reaching St Pancras we queued for a short time at passport control, but while waiting the young girl that we took on TOT earlier in the week and her brother appeared! It was nice to say a final good bye to them and check that they had a great holiday. It's little things like this that make a trip to DLRP so magical and memorable!
As we were walking through the station after passport control, my phone rang and it was our driver home, he was already parked up outside waiting for us, so we headed out, loaded the car and began our journey home. We got home at around 11.30pm and were greeted by 3 totally crazy dogs who had obviously missed us a lot!
