So, the booking for free dining in August/September ends in two days. Like many of you, I am headed down with my family in mid-October and hoping for either free dining or big room discounts.

Any good rumors out there? I am willing to accept any of the following:

1) Not-so-subtle hints dropped by CMs in Reservations
2) A "sure thing" suggested by a Disney bus driver
3) Completely unsubstantiated guesses

In short, I will take anything. Please, get my hopes up! ;)

This made me laugh! :rotfl: Wellllll, the 2 rumors I have heard are:

1. that something will be announced on May 21st or 22nd (read this on a different thread - maybe 2012 free dining watch and wait?)
2. my TA said that when she was talking to a reservation agent about my trip, the reservation agent told her not to change anything with my trip because something good is coming.

Personally, I am hoping it's an extension of free dining! With 3 adults in our family now, free dining saves us more than a room discount!

So there you go, the rumors I have heard! :thumbsup2

I heard there is something 'delicious' coming out for late fall...on may 21st or 22nd..hoping for FD! Through end of November ::yes::

Oooh, I like what I'm hearing so far! These are just the rumors I was looking for :cool1:

We are also hoping for free dining. It would save us more this time around.

Two responses and the same dates (May 21st or 22nd)! These are juicy rumors indeed. You must have talked to the same bus driver :rotfl2:

Ooh, PLEASE let this rumor be true! :worship:

This will absolutely seal the deal for our tenative October trip! We have a week booked in September with FD but our first choice is October.

Come on May 21st! :banana::banana::banana:

Wow...that's Mon or Tues...better makes some decisions about the week after Thanksgiving!!!

I'm so excited to see maybe Free dining will be extended!:cool1:

I would love free dining for my November trip!!!:woohoo:

By the way, I'm a Disney Travel Specialist, but I usually hear things on here first!! Thanks DIS boards!

The rumors have been pretty good on here lately. I believe the August-September free dining was predicted on here a couple weeks before it happened and it was dead-on. Hoping the same for this one. Fingers crossed!

OK...Word problem..

Is the cost of 11 people, 8 adults on the regular dining plan, in 3 Moderate rooms in November at 30% discount less than, greater than or equal to the same group with Free Dining??? :confused3:confused::rotfl2:

This will be graded on a curve. :cool1:

Answer: The train leaving Chicago...oh wait...different word problem. :)

That one is tough. We are staying at a moderate too, but just one room. Dining plan was a better deal for us because we are planning on a bunch of table service meals anyway.

I think it might depend on the number of nights you are staying?? A 30% discount would save you about $60-$70 per room, per night.

I think you might need a spreadsheet and calculator for this one...

It's been 3 years since our last free dining trip. Do you have to add a 1 day or 2 day ticket for each person these days?

Well for numbers I just took a family of 5...2 adults 3 kids and priced it for your dates and FD would save just shy of $1000 and a 30% off would save you roughly $40-50 per night (estimated)for 6 nights at a room rate of $169 a night, so maybe at the high end $300-$350??? I think FD is the btter deal for this hypothetical family. Now if its just 2 adults its $51.54 per day per person so its still a better deal ::yes::

I had the disney site give me a free dining quote (for sept.) and it let me change the tickets to 2 days. :confused3

I remember reading that it had gone to 2...can't remember when. A friend of mine got a free dining pin code and is using it in June and she said her min was 1. But maybe thats because it was a code and not a general offer.

I have old park hoppers I was planning on using...now I'll have to rethink this!
