Calling MS today? Will you please ask about dining plans?

If anyone is calling MS today, would you mind asking whether DVC will be able to add the deluxe, premium and platinum packages to our reservations in 2008.

Thanks!:dance3:

I spoke with MS on Thursday and she told me that they were just in the process of getting trained on 2008 DDP. She kind of said the details would be available in a couple of weeks when I asked when I should call back.

Thanks, Scott.

According to the new brochure, it looks like the cut-back rumors were accurate:

No appetizer and no tip in '08.

I can't see Disney creating a different version of the plan for DVC members.

Pricing is still undisclosed. Rumor was a $1 reduction to $37.99 / $9.99. While DVC members could be priced differently than the general public, I can't see us paying less than others. I was surprised they didn't charge us more from the start given that part of the justification for the DDP was to increase revenue at the resorts.

Thanks, but my question was about the new deluxe plan as well as the premium and platinum plans. I haven't read whether DVCers will be able to add those to our reservations.

I can't imagine DVC getting a price break on any package. We were lucky to be able to purchase the basic DDP IMO although I'm sure WDW saw it as advantageous to the bottom line or it would not have been offered to us for the last year and a half.

What are the deluxe, premium and platinum plans by the way????? Have not heard of these.

The deluxe is 3 meals/night, 2 snacks per night plus a mug/person. My DH said the mug did it...we had to buy.:rotfl2: Signature restaurants count as 2 credits.

Premium and platinum include 3 meals/day, signature is not counted as 2 and tons of recreation...unlimited golf (with club rental, lessons, etc), boat, bike and horse rides, etc. Tours are included although some difference in the two levels these days apparently. V&A has always been included in the platinum as well and many moons ago was in the equivalent of the premium. Room service, kids clubs(at least in the past). Dinnner shows and LaNouba. Very inclusive packages and quite expensive.

Gratuities are no longer included with some exceptions.

I "believe" the premium and platinum plans have been there for a long time and we have never been able to access them using DVC.

So the big question is... do we get to keep the "basic" plan (as changed for 08) and will we be offered the "Deluxe" Plan. And of course. What will it cost?

Yes, the premium plan has been there at least since 83 which was the first year we used it. At that point it was called the "Gold Key" plan. It has had various names over the years...deluxe magic comes to mind right now. The Platinum was first offered as the "Grand Plan" and began when the GF opened or the following year. At first you could only book it at the GF if I remember correctly. In the old days, you had to stay at one of the deluxe resorts to buy the premium and the minimum night stay was five although that was reduced over the years. The components have been tweaked too but it's basically the same.

I've seen people say we can't book them with a DVC stay but never read that anyone actually tried.:confused3

But even if it's never been an option before, perhaps it will be now. Or not.

If the deluxe is an option for DVC next year, we'll probably try it on a short 3 day stay at BCV before we move to AKV CL. We really enjoy the signature restaurants and detest QS unless we can take it back to the villa. For us, it will probably beat DDE by a little but of course you do lose some flexibility. Still, nine credits to spread over 4 days is nice. CG, Jiko and one or even two more signature...here we come!:cool1: If we can add it.
