Next Up - Yak and Yeti (which if said fast sounds disgusting and makes me have to tell my husband every single time “No. it’s not Yakkin’ Yeti - that’s just gross!)
So after adventuring through Asia and visiting the non arm swinging Yeti and visiting some Dinosaurs and swimming with a cute little clownfish we were in danger of being hungry again. I had planned for this and had a brand spanking new Landry’s card with a $25 credit on it in my parks bag so we were tired and I checked us in at the desk and we were placed in the top of the list and within five minutes we had a great window side table on the second floor.
We had great views of people passing by and I was sad they don’t do the Jammin’ Jungle Parade any more because this would have been a prime viewing spot. Man I am going to show my age here but I really loved the old Artimals parade they used to do here. I think that was in like 1999? It was when there wasn’t much open at DAK and it really was a half day park because you rode four attractions and one was a really crummy river cruise and you had done it all. But I am digressing again and you want to hear about the dragon roll!
So for drinks I ordered a very exciting - Water! - I didn’t photograph it so here is an emoji. Jesse got a Diet Coke and Dylan got a Rickshaw Rickie
Southseas Traveler
South Seas Traveler
Myer's Orginal Dark and Captain Morgan Spiced Rum, Monin Lychee Syrup and Citrus Juices
It was cold and citrusy and not that strong but it made me so sad that I didn’t order a drink other than water so my cocktail envy made me want this beauty -
Yak Attack - Mango Daiquiri, Don Q Cristal Rum and Wild Berry Flavors
$9.99
I had to snag a pic of the internet because I forgot to take a picture but it was cold and mango forward and sweet and slushy. I think we were so excited about of whole $25 credit that we temporarily lost our minds and ordered some appetizers for the table. Exactly how far did we expect this $25 to go?
But we didn’t care because we got these beautiful plates!
Dragon Roll
Spicy tuna, avocado, topped with Dynamite crab, tempura crunch, sweet soy glaze $15.99
I am not a huge sushi fan but the boys loved it and I heard Mmmms and Ahhs from across the table so I am guessing it was good. For $15.99 it’s a pretty big serving too! It’s in the shareable section of the menu so it was meant for two.
Firecracker Shrimp
Crispy fried shrimp tossed in a creamy, spicy sauce, Asian slaw
$11.99
This is on the small plates portion of the menu and I am pretty sure just this would have been more than enough food! The shrimp are crispy fried and tossed in a tangy creamy sauce with some kick! It was just enough peppery bite and balanced beautifully. I really enjoyed it!
We probably should have stopped here but we had $25 to spend! So we all ordered an entree (and it was day four and I was so glad to be off my feet that I was really enjoying just sitting quietly with a happy little rum buzz and some spicy shrimp.
So for entrees Jesse chose
Crispy Honey Chicken
Tempura chicken, sugar snap peas, carrots, honey sauce served with choice of jasmine or brown rice
$18.99
This is on the Wok portion of the menu. It had nice big chunks of tempura battered chicken tossed in a honey sauce with lots of crispy fresh veggies over rice. It’s a nice classic wok dish and he enjoyed it. It was mild and had good mass appeal. Nothing too exotic but a good all around solid choice.
Based on the strong recommendation of Lou Mongella from WDWRadio and the T-shirt’s, Dylan ordered the Ahi Tuna Nachos. Who can resist a “best of” choice?

They had lots of chips and slaw but maybe it was a bit lighter Ahi Tuna than he hoped. Dylan said he wished there was a better balance of slaw to tuna. He liked them but he is a guy who likes his protein and it was delicious but maybe wasn’t protein heavy enough as an entree for him. Probably it would be better as an appetizer if you have a big appetite.
I love curry and spice so I chose the “medium spicy”
Chicken Tikka Masala
Boneless chicken breast marinated in yogurt and freshly ground herbs cooked in a traditional Masala sauce, jasmine rice, garlic naan bread
$23.99
I love curry and I love Masala and I love warm soft chewy Naan bread and this hit the hot spot. That said I was surprised that in a theme park they called it medium. It tickled my spice palate and was sweating a little. It was full of lots of tender marinated chicken and it was goood! Three o’s goood! But if you are spice sensitive this might be a no go for you.
I shared some with poor little starving and protein deprived Dylan too.
We WERE we wanted dessert but I thought I might pop at this point even though my feet wanted to keep hanging out and sitting. But alas all good meals eventually end and so did this one. The cream cheese wontons will wait for next time when I don’t over order
One thing worth noting since we used the Landry card and I am a former
server so I am pretty particular and generous when I tip- the bill is confusing. I was trying to figure out where the $25 credit was so I made sure I tipped on the full amount not the discounted amount and I saw it said I had one on the bill but I also saw every item we ordered with an amount next to it. I added them up and it came to the total they gave me on the bill. Out came the phone and I checked my math and it was still not showing where the $25 came off. If he bill seemed right. I thought I was losing my mind. I finally asked and when they do the bill they take a portion off each item to total $25 so the &23.99 chicken masala was ringing at $21.99 etc until $25 in credit is applied.
It’s really confusing but once I figured it out I added the $25 in and tipped on the non discounted total and all was right in the world again. If you’re not a crazy details person this might not be helpful at all but I found it confusing so I am passing it on so it helps someone else.
And to whoever clued us into the Landry Card - it was someone on here - Thank You! It’s awesome.
If you don’t know about it - get the Landry Select Card for a $25 and they give you a $25 immediate credit. So it’s basically free and then you also get a $25 credit on your birthday that we will go use when we are in Vegas next month when we over order at the Golden Nugget on Fremont (also a Landry property) Its also good at Rainforest Cafe (not my favorite but many like it) and TRex do you can eat there with no ADR and really that is the best part!
Next stop - Disney Springs and a movie because my dang feet hurt!
