Atlantis-Paradise Island-Nassau

go to the Atlantis in Paradise Island. It is unbelievable. You can pay $25 and get all the tours, use 7 pools, which include a beachy area with sand, pools, lazy river, slides.....everything you can imagine, including their beach area too. I looked for information before we cruised about this, but couldn't find out much info.

Did the requirements change??? It used to be you had to get room to use the pools etc. Only the aquarium was available for $25...

I don't know about before, but now you can use all the pools. They give you an arm band and you show it to the lady in order to access the pool area. They even have someone come drag you a chair where needed. It was an area as good as Castaway....:p

Bbethparsons,

Who and where do you pay to use the pools and slides?

Did you enjoy the pools and slides?

Were there long lines for the slides?

I had once read also, you must get a room at comfort inn hotel to have access to the pools and slides costing as much as $200. If that is true costing only $25 a person to use the pool and slides, were all in.

Thanks,

You go into the casino to purchase your armbands. This was a vacation with just hubby and myself without children for the first time ever...so to be honest, we saw the slide, but never went close enough to see lines. We love our children, but since they weren't with us, we wanted to avoid all children if possible. LOL We have cruised Disney Magic 3 times and decided to try another line without kids.

The resort is beautiful, you can go to atlantis.com (I believe that is correct) and see pictures of everything. It was VERY relaxing, it was Disney for adults. Beautiful resort, art, and aquarium....

i'm so surprised to hear that $25 will get you everything you described.
it seemed that all that was usually included in that price was the aquarium and the dig.
has it really changed?
if so, it's going to be really packed! esp since people were willing to pay hundreds of dollars to rent a room they never used just to use the pool and slides.

When we went into the casino, the girl explained that the pools were included too. When we outside, there was a lady that checked to see that we had an armband. When we got down to the beachy area, a young man even pulled a chair out for us. We saw several other families from Royal Caribbean there also, we could tell by the colors of their towels. There were lots of people snorkeling, jumping on trampolines, and riding in paddle boats. Hey, it was that they on June 3, 2003!

Bbethparsons,

Thank you, we are also going without childern. We are meeting another couple from Houston,Tx that are good friends. We are both celebrating thier 5th and our 10th anniversary.

Thanks again,

To All,

I just spoke to someone with Atlantis and he said you are suppose to rent at least a room for the day to have access to the pools and slides. His tone and the way he said it, made it sound as if it is or may not be totally enforced. Depending on the employee I guess or where your at that they may let you use the pool or slides.

Well apparently everyone else, with the exception of the reservation desk, will let you use their facilities. Like I said, the ladies in the casino that sold us the armband, said, "You have access to pool areas with this armband!" Even when entering the pool area, the lady looked at our armbands and told us to make sure we applied sunscreen. I will go there again and use their facilities if they let me. !!!

Just want to make sure I get this right. Who exactly do I go to in the Casino to buy the armband?

They have a station there in the middle where you purchase your armband, she explains it to you....The person at the front door directed us to go there.

We spent about $250 for a room in the Coral Tower just to be able to use the slides, pools, etc. We knew about the Comfort Suites, but wanted to be in the resort.

After hearing this, am I upset? Heck no! That was the best money ever spent.
After hearing this, would I do it again? Heck yeah! We enjoyed it too much to risk the possibility of not getting a room if one is really required.

I honestly do not think they have changed things. I think perhaps you got a new recruit at the Casino and she has since been shown the err of her ways!

;) JMHO

It does seem odd that the Atlantis would go thru all the trouble of even admitting that they offer Day Rooms at $200.00 plus... And having employees man the 'guest only' areas, etc... Just to hand out armbands like treats..... Something tells me that this is not the norm????

what we were told when we were there, is they have different armbands.....there is an armband that allows you to use the slides and a different armband that allows you access to the dig and beach area.....
the slides are VERY tightly supervised so i wonder whether anyone could just slip by with the wrong armband....it seems unlikely to me....

I would love it if that is the way it is now! As I will be going in July. Anyone that is planning on this before July 20th how about checking it out and letting us know. What a savings this will be!

There is absolutely NO WAY that they would change things. Doing so would create a theme park atmosphere, something I doubt the resort would want for its full paying guests.

Yes, luvstigger, I have heard that mentioned before.. If I was a bonafide guest at Atlantis, paying a gazillion bucks for a nice room, meals, etc.. I would NOT be happy to be crowded out by throngs of cruise ship tourist, all the people staying at the cut-rate hotels around Nassau.... and everybody else imaginable!!! Could you imagine showing up trying to get an armband on a busy day.... "Okay people.... line forms to the right!!! Sorry lady, NO coolers allowed...." No way can I see Atlantis doing this. Seems like they might also be opening themselves up for a lot of liability if they were to do this.

Very true Wishing!

I think the original poster got VERY LUCKY! And I say....good for them!
But I don't think anyone else should assume that they will get full use of the slides for $25 each. If you really have your heart set on experiencing the resort (which I highly recommend!) book a room!
