We slept in this morning and eventually rolled out of bed for our Ohana breakfast. It was the morning of the Tower of Terror 10 Mile race so we definitely needed to carb up (as if we hadn't been carb loading all trip).
We were seated right away and our food was brought out, but the first character did not show up for an hour
At least we got Stitch waffles.
The food was family style and you could have as much as you want. I thought the food was decent, but I was nowhere as impressed with the meal as I am with Ohana dinner.
Finally Stitch came by.
Stitch had been the mascot of the Tower of Terror race for all previous years, but for some reason this year he'd been taken off duty. We had a good time asking him why he'd been dumped.
Apparently he'd been bad, but he was planning on crashing the race anyway.
Mickey saw Brian's shirt and pointed and then was very sad. We asked him if he was sad about Maelstrom leaving and he said yes. I reminded him that he was the boss of Disney World and he should do something about it.
We headed out and started some laundry before taking off for the race expo.
But first, I took a panorama of our balcony view:
I love these type of billboards, I wish Disney would make more:
We had to park a loooong way away at the expo.
We picked up our race packets:
Had to get a picture of our future race banner:
We did a little bit of shopping and bought a few things, then we were back in the car so we could check into All Star Music for the rest of our stay.
We had other plans than hanging around Music, though. We headed back to the Poly to pick up our laundry.
We stopped in at the lounge for one last snack.
Because the Poly's main pool was being refurbished at this time, we had a free one day ticket to Blizzard Beach. So that is where we headed next. Our free ticket also got us a free towel and sun tan lotion. I didn't bring my phone inside, so I don't have any pics. Even though we arrived somewhat late in the afternoon, we still got a decent amount done. We rode in the lazy river, and did the 2 person slide, the teamboat slide, the toboggan races and Brian went into the wave pool. We stayed until BB closed at 5. Then it was back to the resort to relax before the race.
