And it rained...and rained...and rained!
Fans of the Original The Living Seas will remember that one!
Hi everybody! I thought I would try to finally start my Report from my recent trip to the World a couple months ago. Before we left I was trying to think of a good title and couldn't really come up with anything. Unfortunately during the trip the perfect title came to mind...
We had so much rain on this trip, I couldn't even believe it. I have been to WDW many times had dealt with my share of rain but this was something else. I'll fill you in about that as we go.
I have been to WDW many times and the last 2 trips I have reported on. This will be my 3rd trip report. I hope you all enjoy hearing about it as much as I think I'll enjoy telling you.
For more info you can look at my PTR below in my signature. I couldn't finish it before I left for the trip but all the important info is there. In case anyone doesn't want to read the PTr I will give the basics.
There won't be a lot of pics in these first couple updates but I did take plenty during the trip so there will be lots in the updates to come.
I guess I should introduce myself for those of you that don't know me. I am Danielle and I am a Home Care nurse, I work on call/evenings, which means I head out around 5pm and see a few people in the evening hours, usually overflow admissions or regular visits if anyone called out sick that day or if a Patient was an add on because they were having issues. Then I go home usually about 9 or 10pm and do my Computer notes/documentation and basically wait for the phone to ring, I am "On call" till 8am. Usually I am lucky but sometimes I might have to go back out if someone has a catheter blocked, etc. I don't have to stay awake but I usually do until about 4 or so doing notes and watching Reruns on Nick at Nite (Love those! LOL).
My Hubby's name is Tim, he is a Cleaner at the local Racetrack/Casino. He works on the Racing side, they also do a certain number of special events, concerts in the summers.
We live in Western NY, not far from Rochester, and no, we didn't get all that snow they got out by Buffalo. We get hit hard sometimes but thank goodness that one missed us! (I think we got a total of 2 inches out of that whole episode)
And last but not least is my Dad, Bob. He and my late mom are largely responsible for my love of all things Disney. All but 4 of the trips you see listed in my siggie are with him ( one of the 87s, 91, 2004 and 2010) He lives in Philadelphia and is still working full time at 73. He is retired Army (20 years, retired in 1980) and has worked as a civilian for the Dept of Defense at the local Navy Depot since shortly after he retired from the Army. We don't get to see him as often as we would like and when we do it is only for a weekend at a time so we are looking forward to spending some quality time with him on this trip.
DH and I had talked about the possibility of inviting others to join us but then thought with such short notice, the chances of anyone else coming would not be likely. A couple days later I was talking to my Dad and mentioned that we made the ressie and on a whim asked him if he wanted to come. He was reluctant at first due to his work schedule but when he heard our dates, said that those days actually worked well for him because it was a slow time for him at work.
I don't think I actually got too many pics of him on this trip so here is one from our last trip in 2011.
The other person in the Pic is my MIL, she was with us on the last trip, too, along with my SIL and her DH at the time and his Dad (check out the "May 2011" TR below if you are interested)
We were in WDW from September 25th until October 2nd and stayed at POP century. This was our 2nd time staying there (my Dad's 1st). and our rooms ended up being just down the hall from where we stayed in 2004.
