AKL Animals on view end of May?

Hi. My DH and I are planning a quick trip to AKL on May 29th. We've never been to WDW this time of year and wondered: (a) Are there lots of animals on the AKL savannas right now? and (b) Has the ongoing construction had any effect on the animals and/or on the general noise level at AKL?

Thanks so much for any help you can give us. This trip is being planned so quickly, I can't even believe we're going!
