The little carousel thing is at the bottom of emails I got from airmiles related to the Metro offers I have (so not directly from Metro but ABOUT them) @bababear_50
Now that we're not going to be fully focused on Airmiles in here I can go ahead and post some of the pictures from our trip if anyone's interested. We didn't take as many this time, just didn't feel like wanting to document much I guess? Hubby pointed out that some of my better ones were taken at night giving the album on my phone a decidedly dark tone, fitting I guess.
Here's a few from the resort, a nice mix of the sameness from our 2020 trip which is probably why I felt most comfortable there this time - it was very familiar and comforting to me. No order to them cause the brain fog is still real!

Yes, I'm 60 and still take my teddy bear with me on trips :P We asked for housekeeping to be kept to a minimum during the "in between days" while we were waiting to hear about mom's passing and we came back from a brief walk to find the towels changed, more kleenex on the bedside tables and Irving studying the TV Guide channel

Never knew where he'd end up - after a full cleaning he was up in the world, one day he was inspecting the sinks

Sitting waiting to join the funeral planning VIA Zoom was just too much in the room so we sat in front of the fountains under our window - even though it's one of the unadvertised smoking locations (garbage cans beside benches are a hint) not once over the 2 weeks did we ever see anyone else even use this area to sit!!

First of many egg-white omelettes. In case you're wondering, YES you can make them so nasty that they end up in the garbage can - way more than I'm happy to admit - but DANG, worse food ever this trip from far too many very young inexperienced chefs at POFQ. I wasn't expecting miracles but having to explain that rapeseed oil is in fact the same thing as Canola Oil and then getting a lecture on the health benefits (as in he didn't agree with using it URGH) wasn't what I wanted or needed! Some were better than others but hubby was very disappointed - i had gone in with much lower expectations.

Things were much better at other locations - D'Luxe Burger never fails to hit the mark with both of us, big juicy burgers for hubby and OMG real french fries for the first time in 3 years.

Yukon Gold (hello University of Guelph for the win) cut on site and soaked overnight before being fried in canola oil in a dedicated fryer that's used for NOTHING else! And YES i ate them ALL

OMG I would have eaten them all as well. Fitting that you posted this today as it is actually National Tator Day.
Lovely photos. Were the placemats homemade and brought with you?

On my Air Miles app there is an offer get 50 airmiles if you earn 1 airmiles at shell. It says no fuel purchases necessary does this mean I can go into a shell and buy the 2 coke products for $5.00 and get 10 airmiles and then get the the additional 50 airmiles?

Did anyone see the pic of the new mugs? They are so pretty I can't wait to get them in May. I love to use them at home all the time.

I got my monthly Shell deal and it's one fill up for 25 am and second gets me 50 more. Which is much more doable for me. Especially since I have to return to the office twice a week starting Monday.

I had 95 am post from Metro. I think it's for spending $150 in a certain time frame. Everyone had a different offer I believe.

I forgot I had switched to part cash and part dream miles now that my trip is closer and I need dream miles for December. I couldn't figure out why my cash didn't go up by $10 when those posted. Then I remembered.

Hi
I think the products are now Pepsi and not Coke.

On the subject of Shell.....I just realized that my monthly offer for 3X 30L is attached to my old (suspended) account. No idea how or if I can change that. I did change the card attached to the Shell app but that has no offers on it. I had to change BMO and Amex which was not a simple process so I hope those are set up properly.

and.....I'm going to have to call AM again as there have been a bunch of miles posted to the old account. I'll wait on that for a bit though until I think everything has posted. I wonder if they could deal with some online purchases that I made on Black Friday weekend that still have not posted. Problem with those though, I don't recall what the additional multipliers were. I've got Nike and Best Buy but there might be another one.

Feels like lately I've burned through some brain cells trying to deal with all these issues. I did finally get my email back but the app on my phone is messed up due to some change the tech guy had me make. I can only access email from a web browser but at least I can access all my folders and move everything out. That too is going to be a job. My email was out exactly 30 days. I had to sort through nearly 2700 emails.

Same wishes from me. As an educator, this coming weekend was my favourite one of the year. 1 day for cleaning, 1 day for family, 1 day for planning, and a whole day for me!
Me Too!
Right now I am doing supply ,,,but it comes with rules in order to be kept on the supply list for next year, maintain my pay grid , and have a defined amount of work days necessary.
I was worried I wouldn't achieve the days necessary because I skipped Sept to Nov . (Big mistake)
I am happy to say that after today I only need one more day to meet the requirements!! :dogdance:

That's good news Mel. Nice to have all your options available for next year.

On a thrifty side note. Today is garbage day in my neighbourhood. People in this neighbourhood throw out the best stuff. Last night we picked up a rocker glider at a house down the street. Big name in nursery rocker gliders (Dutailer). The wood mechanisms all seem fine. I can paint it another colour to freshen it up. The cushions are OK but not a preferred colour. I looked online and I can order a brand new set of cushions for $229. That with a can of paint and I have a $900 rocker/glider for under $300.

Same house this morning when I was walking the dog I had a closer look at a leather sofa they were throwing out. The base is vinyl but the cushions were leather. The back cushions were still in great shape. I took the stuffing out of the cushions and brought the cushion covers home. I have since cut the leather up into pieces. The leather I kept was in great condition and suitable for crafts etc.

My son plans on making some of those wooden reindeer for next Christmas. Some of this leather will make perfect ears for his reindeer (and the reason I had a look at the sofa in the first place). A little time invested and I've saved a bunch of good leather from the landfill.

Well done, Mel! I'm sure you'll get that day no problem. I never did occasional work...once I was out, I discovered how much I liked not being in the school, even though I taught well after my full pension date, and I absolutely loved my job.Next year, you'll know to grab some of those early days. ;)

Well today has not been the best. First day returning to the office and .... all visitor parking was full by 7 am, the parking on the street was around the block and it was slippery. I did not wear my winter boots, fashion over function! Made it to work, second monitor would not work. I finally got it going, and found a better chair. Some guy sitting near me must have been having a bad day because there was a lot of sighing and mumbling from his corner, guess he's not used to being around people any more 🤣 Glad when the day ended, did not like the commute home, though at least the snow had stopped so it wasn't as slippery.

Got an email from my landlord, please send the rent. Umm I did that on Friday night. Had to call the bank, have them cancel the transfer and resend it. What the heck? He figured it out last month... Ok. Now I need to get to bed early enough so I'm not running late tomorrow. Then at least I have a week before I have to go back again. I do feel like I got less than half what I would have at home. Oh well!

I got a camera to watch puppy (he's 6 but been home with me for 3 years), and oh he cried all day long :( kiddo didn't go to school, again, too tired, but wouldn't just be in the same place as the dog so he wouldn't cry. I think it's all just a little too much. Work driving me nuts, kid never going to school, driving me nuts, and yeah. I need a break. 37 days until Disney. Gotta make it.

Oh, my parents are moving to a retirement home as of June 1st, nice looking place, obviously much smaller than their current house, which has already sold. They are watching the puppy in May, for the last time I guess. Will need a new place for him to stay when we travel.

Ok, done complaining. At least I have been sticking to my "diet", even today back to the office. Helps they have no onsite cafeteria or food for purchase. They did give free coffee this morning which was pretty good. And I have lost 6 pounds in two weeks. Which I know will slow down if not stop, and was all water I'm sure. Still feels good motivation to keep at it. Will eat whatever the heck I want at Disney. The amount of walking I'll be doing there should keep me steady. Plus I think I will eat more kids meals so I can eat a few cupcakes and dole whips to balance things out :D Last trip I would be too full from the adult meal and then not be able to eat any of the fancy cupcakes or fancy things lol. I also want a popcorn bucket (one of the skyliner ones fingers crossed they have them!) which we have never done before. And the new mugs... oh they are just so pretty!! I must have one.

If it makes you feel any better.....I complain everyday at work :rotfl2: It will be an interesting day at work for me today too. Entrance restrictions were lifted on Friday. So now it's an honour system but not many people are believing that it's going to work and think that the region will bring in their own policy. No matter what happens at least it's a break from daily testing for the first time in 2 years......it's been 2 years and 2 weeks but who's counting.

Ah, sending hugs! It's hard to start a new routine for everyone, and when you are having one of those days, everything seems to go to heck in a handbasket.

How big is your puppy? The retirement home that my mom was supposed to go to (she changed her mind-couldn't fathom moving, despite our reassurances) had a pet policy. They could have/look after pets under 30 pounds.

Good start on the weight loss. I always eat kids meals at Disney. It's always been enough. And I get the milk to boot. 🥛 :-)
