Cute themes! I wish they would switch the characters up sometimes though - the Pluto art is adorable but I have no desire to do a Disney 5K lol. And I love how the thread immediately exploded in speculation as soon as the art went up

They do switch them up on occasion. It's not frequent, but in the time I've been doing RunDisney (starting 2016), there have been a number of differences.

5k: Pluto gave way to Oswald then it came back to Pluto
10k: Initially Minnie, then Oswald, now Chip & Dale
1/2: Initially just Donald, now Daisy has joined in
Marathon: Initially just Mickey, now Minnie shares the spotlight
Goofy: Just Goofy
Dopey: Just Dopey

The half and full have been about the same price since I can remember. Sometimes it’s exactly the same. The cost per mile is definitely a better deal for the full

Last year, it was $5.33 more for the full than the half. This year, yeah, it's $2.

The shorter races (5k, 10k, half) went up by about $5 from last year. Goofy went up 27 cents!

So its a small world out there folks. I was at physical therapy today and I hear a lady talking about the Balloon Ladies from this years races. I started to laugh, not that she encountered them, just for someone to be randomly talking about it at PT. The lady helping me was like whats funny, so I told her what the goal of the Balloon Ladies are for the races and then my full Disney nerd side started coming out lol. The lady who was talking about them started asking me about my experience and I said I have been lucky to not have to be warned by them so far. She said they were yelling at people to keep moving and lets go. Just thought it was a cool story of a random topic. If shes a part of these boards I hope what ever you are getting PT for gets better soon and your back to WDW soon to run another marathon!

I really like all the artwork. Like REALLY like it. I'm a sucker for Pluto so now I'm rethinking my plan to just do the 10K and Half to add the 5K. I'm doing all three races at DL, so that would make sense right? Buuuttttttt then I have to sign up for three races and I only get two early with my Club rD membership. Maybe I should just sign up for Dopey after all and make it one registration?

I was going to spectate the full and leave that afternoon for a few days at home before DL. Buuuttttt I could just go right from WDW to DL and do ALL THE THINGS.

I love the artwork! Kind of bummed now that I'm not going for Dopey. But it just won't work with me signing up for the DL half. I don't have the time or money to make it work. Still debating the 10K. It's my favorite course and I really do love the artwork. But it's another night away and I don't really need to do it. Plus it will ruin my cute tagline of doing the "Half and Half Challenge". Hmmm....

My DW is doing it all! Dopey+DL5k+Dumbo. I guess there's a few days of downtime after the marathon? But is that enough?

I like that the DL races have returned if only for the inevitably incessant talk from the announcers about all the runners doing Dopey and then going to California to run the following weekend. Runners “just” doing Dopey will finally be able feel the unintentional (but, you know, kind of intentional) inferiority that is foisted upon everyone else. It’s the truest rD experience .
