*HHI Owners and Beach Lovers Group Thread*

Thanks for posting this! I'm leaving for HHI on Saturday and am so ready for a relaxing trip. Never been this time of year and looking forward to riding bikes without the scorching heat.
Enjoy your trip!
We had nice weather and enjoyed our stay.

How long do you think the refurbishment will last? We have a trip booked the end of August and are thinking of postponing it. We don't want to deal with construction noise. Plus if we postpone it, we will be more likely to get a refurbished room. We are checking in on Wednesday, and of course, will ask CMs what they know. I will report what I find out. Until then, any guesses how long it will take?

Several months at least since there are 20ish buildings to update. Disney usually does really well keeping the construction noise down, but it is a small resort.

The above picture is from tanger outlets. Character performer hiring?!?

Also found out that Byrds/selma cookies is contracted to produce for twdc.
I know all three of those people in the pictures! In fact, I worked with each of them in one manner or another. The cookies the resort uses are not made in house, either by the resort or by Disney. Good to hear the resort is being freshened some. pirate:

News from DHHIR—
Chip and Dale have arrived! They were hanging out with Pluto and greeting and playing games with all the kids.

A CM told me that the refurbishment will start in July. They will do one building at a time starting at the back of the resort and working up to the lodge. She said she heard it would take a month to complete a building, but she said that didn’t make sense for them to be refurbishing for almost two years. I sure hope it doesn’t take that long! She couldn’t confirm the Murphy bed. But she told me they are supposed to keep the low-county charm.

I wish dvc would release pictures of the test rooms that are complete.

Surprised a little that the refurb will start in July. Then again, if they are going to do one building at a time (unsure if that is the case), then they'll need all the time they can get to finish within a reasonable amount of time and not knock out too many reservations along the way.

Low country vibe? Loosely.

Murphy beds? Happening.

The CM did say that she thought they may shut down more than one building at a time (but all close together) and that’s what would take a month. That does make sense. Maybe they shut down one building in July and then start shutting down more buildings at a time once low season begins?

Please share what you know about the vibe.

It would be hard to fathom them only doing one building at a time; then again, I never thought they'd start in high season, either, so who knows? pirate:

Think stonewashed colors of drab gray, brown, light brown, foam green. . .with accent pieces in the form of light shades, curtains, and the ubiquitous paintings of Disney characters on the walls and the Murphy bed.

That doesn’t sound too bad. HHI is kind of known for stonewashed drab colors. That’s why I love it. No in-your-face colors. As long as we don’t have white walls with IKEA-looking furniture, I’m good. I could do without the paintings with Disney characters though. I love the nature paintings on the walls now.
