The Official DIS Oscars LIVE Watch Party Thread!!! TONITE!

That's a wrap for this one. It was a great Oscars tonight.

Thanks everyone for watching with me! :teeth: 🌹
Thanks, @Imzadi, for hosting another great Oscars evening. Always the great host. I got worn out trying to keep up here last night.

I do think I came away with a great idea for something new for a nice modest look for my wedding/funeral ensemble. My basic navy is getting dated. I liked Harvey's Christian Siriano suit here. Think I could do it justice?

Loved Michelle. While I love Jamie Lee, I don’t think she should’ve won but her speech was beautiful and humbling (major for shouting out the crew and franchises and of course her parents that was beautiful).

Who were you rooting for?

Kimmel was ok. Not his best but not his worst. Genuinely enjoyed his opening monologue.

All in all a successful year for film.

I think we all needed a nice, uneventful night, except for all the crying we did.

@Dan Murphy , YOU can definitely pull this off. 👍👍👍 :teeth:

Just popped back on to say "Thank you!" to our Oscars MVP, Imzadi, for hosting this chat. :cheer2:

I don't know if I would have stayed up without it! It did turn out to be a good show this year, but this thread made the whole thing even more fun and more interesting.

P.S. The awesome RRR Naatu Naatu performance made me think they should make the Oscars more of an all-singing, all-dancing extravaganza, a bit like they used to. :dance3:

Glad you stayed up and watched the end with us. Definitely more fun when we all watch and chat together. :hyper2: Princess in Oz got up to watch at 7am from Australia, and you stayed up to 3am. popcorn:::thumbsup2

One more tearjerker moment:

When Michelle Yeoh's mother and family (whom she mentioned during her speech were in Malaysia watching) reacts to her winning the Oscar.

Reports are that ALL of Asia is celebrating Michelle's historic win as the first Asian actress to win the Oscar. They say it's like winning the Olympics for them.

Like this?

:rotfl2: Maybe, not quite like that!!!

It's a small world after all, isn't it?! :D

I got to bed at 4am! ....Somehow, easier than getting up early for it, like Princess, though!

Same time next year?

I think this is very inconsiderate. Same with some other ensembles I saw tonight. I mean these women sit in front of somebody.
I agree that's bad, but at least whoever sat behind her didn't have their entire view blocked out.

Unlike the poor souls who sat behind that woman with the giant white cowl that must have completely blocked the stage view of at least five or six people behind her. I thought for sure she'd take it down for the show, but nope. I hope the people behind her chewed her out. Imagine being excited to go to the Oscars, spending a lot of time getting ready, only to sit down and find out you can't see a dang thing except the white cowl in front of you.

Yes! You've already been added to the PM Reminder list for next year's Award Show LIVE watch parties. I think I got everyone who stayed a bit and posted 3 or more times. Sometimes I forget to add people. But, this year, I remembered to do it. :thumbsup2

It all started as many of us randomly were watching the shows alone. Then we'd happen to come on the DIS and see someone started a thread, and other people joined in. Then we wished we could be reminded when the next show is so we could keep watching together. :hyper2:popcorn:::chat: SO much more fun than watching alone. :grouphug: 🥰

It was much more fun. Next year, I'm bringing popcorn!

Here you go. A picture is worth a thousand words.

And here you can BARELY see the poor Asian woman right behind her trying to see around that poufy, white cumulus cloud. :rotfl2:

With the Red Champagne Carpet watching for dresses, it's about 6-1/2 hours, depending on how long you watch, and if you come and go. Definitely bring more than popcorn. But, that will be in the reminder too. :teeth:
