25K steps a day can we talk about socks?

I swear by compression socks for Disney. I wear them regularly for my job and the last few trips started wearing them at Disneyland and they have made such a difference with my feet and legs at the end of a long Disney day. I recently switched to the Crazy Compression brand and am loving them- lightweight and soft with great but comfortable compression. And they have a lot of fun designs!
Do you wear the knee length ones? I have compression hose I use on flights but there's no way I could wear those all day at the parks lol.

Last trip March 2019 I did fine in plain old Hanes crew socks. This trip is June and I'll probably use Balega comfort for the extra cushioning and because they are lower profile and hopefully not as hot.

I have never gotten a blister at DL, whether I was doing socks or sandals. My DH always gets blisters. This trip I'm having him 'practice' with the socks and shoes he plans on wearing so we can identify any hot spots or issues ahead of time. 5th times a charm, right?

I do wear the knee high ones. I use them for our flights too. I find that the socks are so much more comfortable and breathable than compression hose. I have even convinced my husband to use them for travel and Disney. Lol.

Wicking socks with arch support work well for many people. We like Smartwool socks (or another brand equivalent) -- never had a blister with Smartwool socks.
THIS!~ The ONLY time I ever got blisters and they were HORRIBLE...was when I wore regular socks with Crocs. NEVER again. I don't know if it was the air flow and regular socks or what but I literally couldn't walk. We had to rent a wheelchair and I'm not even kidding. :sad:The worst pain and it was huge. Wicking socks would have saved the day. I now own wicking socks and tops.

Has he tried the body glide? I used to get them too but then haven't since I started using it.

I never used to care about socks. Hanes were great. Til I tried Bombas. After wearing them for about a month, I grabbed a pair of Hanes (laundry needed to be done) and after just a couple hours, I knew Bombas were the only way to go. Let's add, they have Disney socks now! (Wearing Pluto's as I type.)They aren't cheap, but I can't go back now.

Thanks! I could not wait to get them off when I landed lol. I'm going to get some for the park. I never even thought of that. I bet it helps alot!

No socks. My feet get sweaty in the heat.

I have a pair of sketchers go walk shoes and go walk sandals. Both are absolutely amazing. For the shoes for our trip in 2020 and the sandals for our trip a couple weeks ago in April I had zero issues. These are the only trips out of 21 to Disney parks along with other travel we've done where my feet didn't hurt or my back. I was skeptical when I bought the first pair but I'm a believer now it is the only shoes I will travel with.

Oh, man, thanks for the tip on Disney Bomabs! I don't normally go in for themed socks, but for a Disney vixit, these are perfect.

Follow up on Bombas— Are they just very comfortable or do they help with blisters? What do people like about them?

I like that they are shaped to the foot and nice and snug. The first time I put them on they felt wierd, but then I realized that those socks had right and left versions. Once I had them on right, they felt so nice!

I don't wear socks at Disney. I must qualify since this is the Disneyland board, I've only been to WDW. Anyway, I wear either Clarks Flip Flops, some sort of hiking sandal like earth origins or Teva like (I don't own actual Teva's) or Sketchers go walk slip ons. I don't wear socks with the slip ons. I can't wear many close toed shoes, even in winter I wear my Sketchers and no socks. What I do is wear different shoes every day. I usually take at least 3 pairs of sandals/flip flops and one pair of Sketchers. I love my Sketchers, I do have a pair of sandals and a pair of flip flops from them as well. Except for my slip ons, all my sandals and flip flops have adjustable straps for those days when your feet start swelling.

I was wondering about socks , too. After my last trip my feet were killing me, especially my toes. I have plantar fasciitis and wear special inserts in my shoes but the socks will make a huge difference for blisters.

What does foot glide do, exactly? And are Bombas socks more supportive, or more breathable?

Not all have left and right. Some styles do, many don't. The tennis ones definitely do, which I do not play tennis, but love how they feel on. I check the materials and get the ones that are higher in cotton, as I found I like them more than the ones higher in polyester (usually, the light weight "performance" socks.)

It feels like they offer more support, in the bee hive type band around the arch. I do know I have not had the plantar fasciitis act up since I have been wearing them the last 2-3 years.

No right, not all do, but the ones I like do!

Regardless of what socks I am wearing more importantly for me is a second pair and mid day change of socks if I cam carrying a bag or getting a locker.
SAME. We usually take a mid day break, so I go back and change my socks at that point. Take my shoes and socks off, get my feet up, rest, then back at it with fresh socks and maybe a change of shoes, depending.

Um, those are adorable. I keep hearing about Bombas and ignoring it, but now I need them just so I can get the Disney version.

Chaco flip flops. No socks

I wore slight heeled dress shoes today. No socks. 4th Disney day since last Sunday. I’ll see if one turns into a blister on the bottom of my foot. It’s not feeling great. But I put my 40 lb kid in my baby carrier during fireworks and walked “home” 20 min.
