RETURN OF FESTIVAL OF FANTASY PARADE - NO DISNEY 50 PARADE???

I'm reading how so many people are excited that FESTIVAL OF FANTASY is returning. But is it just me.?... I was waiting on a DISNEY 50th Anniversary parade. Thought for sure it would come before the return of some old festivity. I've been planning my OCT 2022 Disney 50 trip since my 2017 trip. I'm going all out. I've only seen FOF three times, but I personally am over it. I was at DISNEY 25. Wasn't there a DISNEY 25 PARADE?? Am I remembering wrong? I understand that the pandemic got in the way of and DELAYED WDW's DISNEY50 plans and events, but how hard is it to imagine and develop a new parade? Perhaps I am missing something. Someone let me know. This is very disappointing.

Given how poor the “replacement” offerings have been lately (Enchantment, Harmonius, etc), I’m pretty happy they are just bringing back FOF.

WDW never, ever announced a new parade would be part of the 50th anniversary celebration. I'm not sure where you got the info that something was in the works? When the announcement of new shows for the 50th was made, they actually announced there would be a cavalcade as part of the celebration which is a far cry from a parade. I guess I don't understand why you were expecting something other than what was announced?

They didn't want to spend the extra money hence the overall disappointment of the 50th

There was a lot of speculation they might take PTN from Disneyland but no new parade was announced or even really speculated about.

Personally I think this it. (Even taking PTN from Disneyland would require training a whole team to run it and perform in it and I don’t see why Disney World would put the money into that when they can just roll out the Fantasy Parade and call it a triumphant return.)

And I heard they even tried to pull a fast one by not keeping the Maleficent dragon as the center piece. It really makes you wonder who's making these decisions on how much they can get away with before guests will rage.

Remember the Magic parade came out for the 25th anniversary, I still miss it! (but not as much as I miss Spectromagic - best parade ever!)

Even in the timeline where the pandemic didn’t happen there was never a mention of a new day parade for the 50th … there had been mention of a new night parade/reskin of PTN but that was scrapped

I know that it was not announced. It's true that I presumed it.
I was going by the Disney 25 celebration which was truly magical. Disney50 simply is not producing what I expected, as I am comparing it to Disney 25. The expectation isn't coming from nowhere. I presumed no parade was announced due to their setbacks. Now a parade has been announced. I expected that an announced parade would be Disney50 themed.

I did not know there was / is a D50 cavalcade. Even that will work for me.

You mean like Disneyland had for their 50th? It was reasonable. However, I don't think it was planned even prior to the pandemic.

I don't know anything about DL and their 50th. I was comparing it to my DISNEY25 celebration experience.

I was giving another example of what Disney has offered up for a 50th Anniversary, further illustrating your point that what they offered for WDW was woefully lacking.

Makes sense, lets them save money and make Maleficent an upcharge only attraction at Boo Bash.
