I am less than impressed with the new Amex offers, it's all tax and business related stuff other than the high-end luxury brands. I mean, it's great if I want to spend $500 on a pen and get $100 back lol.
The only one that excited me was FedEx 30% off. Might use that. Room for lots more.

it asked for tax id xx-xxxxxx, maybe a different link?
TIN and SSN have the same amount of numbers, just enter your SSN if that's what you use for your business. We have all done it and it works. If you tap on the box (or click on the little "i", I'm going from bad memory) Chase tells you enter your SSN in that field if you are a Sole Proprietor, as a little tip-box pop-up thingie. As a Sole Prop your SSN is your TIN.

To add to this, rule of thumb on CL to income usually recommended as less than 50%. I am proactively lowering my CLs. Took a look at DHs (I manage all accounts) and noted that prior to his CSP his CLs for 5 cards, personal and biz were almost 45% of income. Chase then approved him for CSP with a CL of 18k putting his CLs at over 60% income (and this was while we were buying a house last summer and had just gotten mortgage approval) So while we think we know "Chase logic" sometimes they surprise us.

Chase is happy to give you more than 50% ( in fact hubby is in mind boggling 80% range of HHI ) but if you already have 50% or more on a new app it has a higher potential to require human review or worse, be denied (we have seen denials here on the thread over the years). The recommendation for CL ratio is to set you up for instant or at least auto approval. People have been approved with higher ratios, it's just not good odds. To best set yourself up for success, the less than 50% ratio is recommended. For personal apps, Chase routinely gives me 60% of whatever I input as HHI. If only they were as generous with Biz apps as they used to be. Can't claim the same success there anymore.

Happy New Year! Our first trip of the new year planned is long weekend at WDW. I currently have a reservation at the Dolphin with a pretty good passholder rate. Had to pay for some in advance (but can cancel up until 5 days prior) and was able to use the AMEX offer ($50 off) that has since expired. My question is I see that there is now a better rate (AAA) at the Swan. Would I lose the credit (AMEX take it back?) if I cancel Dolphin and book Swan? I'd be turning right around and spending the necessary amount to trigger credit but I suppose I wouldn't technically be doing it before the offer expired at last year end.

I still have to check the website (because the app still seems to limit the number of offers shown. Offhand I think it's still about 50 instead of 100) but I have the offers for Freight and Office but don't have Shipping. Coincidentally or not, Shipping I had saved to my card during the last offer period and didn't save either the Freight or Office. :confused3

It may or may not be clawbacked by AmEx. So I would just be prepared for the $50 to be taken back.

I would contact in-house reservations at Swolphin at reservations@swandolphin.com and ask if they can modify your reservation. Hopefully that would result in no change to the deposit you've already made, which triggered the credit. But like @Alexie2007 said, be prepared to lose out on the $50 in case, and factor that into your decision to switch.

Anyone care to check my math? Not sure if I am thinking of this the right way.
I need over $3000 to make my MSR on my CIC in about 2 weeks. Unfortunately, like @palhockeymomof2 mentioned, Staples only had $300 worth of Disney gift cards. Need about $2000 more.
Should I buy $2000 worth at Staples.com? Each $100 card has a $2 fee.
20 cardsx $2 fee= $40 fee
but CIC will get 5x UR at Staples.com right? So $2040 will earn a bit over $100 worth of URs?

Or I can buy $2000 worth at BJs for $1920. plus 1x UR so $19.

I do plan on immediately moving my CIC bonus to my CSR so option 1 works better right?

Yes, as long as you have a cash out method.

Poor Puggles! He typically gets Nature’s Recipe stew but Amazon is out of it so I went with Purina Beyond. I don’t know what it is but it looks like chunks of tofu instead of the cage free chicken it claims to be. I think I am going to donate the rest of the case. It just looks disgusting for the little Prince to be eating.

Last night I was going over the offers and adding a bunch to various cards just to get them out of my way while I'm checking for new ones. I like to put all the wine offers on one card, just in case, all the clothing on another and then assign 'good' offers to the cards that they suit best on if possible. So, meanwhile, right on cue, Amex sends me an email telling me to update my income so they can send me more and 'different' offers. I'm feeling so 'stalked' by these companies and their advertising pushes.

I've been closing the income update page that Amex pops up every time I get on. I'm not done with Amex but what I do will be on my terms. I'm still miffed that they gave me a pop up on a Hilton app a while back.

All that said, they were very generous in the last year.

Yes…option 1
You may have done so but did you ask if they had any more Disney gift cards…sometimes they have them in the back or put away underneath the gift cards that are displayed

Lol. I didn’t even think to ask. The gift card display was moved from the front to the back corner near the employee door to get to the back. Very picked though. I will check in a few days before I order online.
I think I’m always just nervous when I buy $$$$$. Like they automatically think I’m scamming them.

Just say they are teacher gifts :) That’s my go to line.
