Question - DH was approved for a CIU using a support link from my CIP. This CIP has just had the AF show up. Do I need to keep the card for the support UR's to come through? I have 2 other CIC's and was planning on cancelling the CIP as I don't really have a use for it. I realize now I should have made it easy on myself and just sent a support link from one of my CIC's....
Just PC to a CIU or CIC until you get your points. Then you can cancel if you'd like after that.

Curious if anyone has been on lately, or is booked for a cruise soon? If you've been on one since cruising began again, I'd love to know your experience! We are booked for January, and I'm getting a little concerned about it now with everything going on.

The rate is unfortunately non-refundable, although it's my understanding that if you test positive you will get credit to use for another cruise. Also, I have a 10% Carnival offer on my CSP, so I was thinking to pay off the rest of the cruise a month early to get $50 back.

Our first cruise since the zombie apocalypse began is scheduled for December. It isn’t with DCL though. Our next DCL cruise is booked for March. I have been watching a few videos and trip reports coming in from those who have done the test sailings or have sailed. It looks like it will be quite a different experience.

Ask me again in a month. But currently RCCL’s rules are in flux. Last week we could all get a PCR or Rapid test before cruise. Now it must be a Rapid test 2 days before, except under 12, which is a PCR 3 days before.
RCCL has kits they will mail you (for a fee, I believe), where they will video watch you self test the Rapid.
Non-vaxed will be masked all the time, and only allowed into shows IF space permits, and sit in a special area. A 4th day test, will be taken (unvaxed only?), and if positive, you’re off at next port. We bought early enough that RCCL will cover transport back to the states (presumably 2 weeks and a negative test later). Later purchasers require (unvaxed only?) to purchase health insurance.
A positive test before cruise will get you a future cruise credit.
Hoping for a half empty cruise with plenty of open space!

I ended up sending a SM as the points do not show as pending either. Not sure if there is a gap between approval and pending or there is an issue overall.
It takes 1-4 weeks for the points to go pending, lately it's usually been in the 2-3 week area. If it was approved just on Sunday I'm not sure even SM reps can see it right now. So don't be discouraged yet if you don't get a good response.

Chase batch processes support points and posts them on a regular schedule. Usually Tuesday evenings ET is when you'll see them pending for next statement. (IME the soonest you'd see pending points for this approval is next Tuesday) Still won't get them until statement closing with the rest of the points, but you can check pending points each week around mid-week to see if everything tracked right.

I'm really bummed I can't use any cards for my taxes this week. Grrrr! Both staples are out of VGCs. But also I'm finding EVERY store is out of like ALL schools supplies. I had to go to 3 stores to find PENCILS! I couldn't find composition books last night. I joked it's like the apocalypse!

Does this mean w/ rentals you'll have to use theirs? I've debated buying one to use on vacas and drive to my sister/thru Ohio.

ive used ours in a rental before. You can temporarily add the car and tags.

Might be of interest for anyone planning an upcoming wedding: I saw someone mention this on r/churning. They mentioned utilizing the Amex Plat/Shop Small/Resy credit card sign up. The OP mentioned her DJ, caterer and photographer were all on the Amex shop small list, so they were able to max out the $25,000 at 15x + the 125k SUB, so 500k MRs. If you value MR at .015, that's worth $7,500!

Sadly, the CS value dropped to 1.1 but that would still be a nice pay day If you cashed out.

I can’t believe I am thinking about booking a day Trip/flights just to get the free CP for 2 months. We have flights this month but the prices have jumped. I’ll have to see what the price difference is.

yeah, i got flights incoming that qualify but rebooking would mean $40 more. Even so, i dont even know if ill even use the CP if i do get it... feel like it aint worth doing.

I was actually able to rebook mine and took a flight home an hour earlier and now have $28.01 in travel funds. So there goes my 1st Centurion lounge visit since my day trip would have been to Charlotte just to hit the lounge.

I think that was the right choice. If you are anything like me, I feel like I always pass on a deal and then regret it. So in January/Feb I would have ended up flying 2-3 times and kicked myself.

We’ll get 2 CP out of the deal. I’m going to have to start thinking of some tentative destinations so that when the schedule opens up next week, I can hold the non-CP tix, with points of course.

Yeah, we are family of 3 and DH has through 2022 so little chance I will use it. But given that all it cost me was a few minutes to redo my flights, it’s nice to know it’s there if I need it.

I recently took an upgrade offer on my AmEx Gold to Plat and DS was an AU on the account. AmEx decided he needed an upgrade also as I got a Plat in the mail for him and reduced AF charge on my bill. Now to get that corrected since he had no sole flights that I am aware of or need for a Plat.
