Official 2021 "Disney After Hours Boo Bash" Thread

she did breathe fire last night!!

Something must have happened as she stopped breathing for the last two cavalcades with her that RTV1 showed on live stream, although one person said they saw her light up in Frontierland.

Betting that the driver or producer felt there might be an issue and made the call to shut off the fire. Better to have a dragon walking through the park than nothing at all, and certainly better than another hot head issue with the float down for the count.

I'm sure the problem is being addressed today. She's a ticket seller.

I was watching ResortTV1 at around 9:45CST, so about half way through the event, and they were talking about how there weren't as many people as they expected. Someone was saying how it felt like the first party they went to in 2010 with the low crowds. Mentioned later that Space Mountain had a 10 minute wait all night. I'll watch some more in the next couple weeks, but it made me want to attend when we're there at the end of the month.

Nope! I just asked guest services and they said they are still selling a few because they opened up. :(
Ok, my friend that works doing analytic stuff there said tons of people have moved or cancled their trips, and that includes those with boo bash tickets, the system just has to be manually loaded on that end (yay disney IT) and it hasn't so you have to go to Guest Services to buy if you see that sign. They aren't loading the event up, people have legit just been cancelling left and right because of everything going on.

Waiting for the resort launch now. Fabulous night!!

we entered at 7:20. We rode a few rides and got Casey’s and watched the fireworks from Tomorrowland terrace while we ate.

After fireworks, we walked onto buzz and then Peoplemover. Then it was the official start of the event:

We rode:

Speedway
dumbo
Pooh

Stopped to watch all calvacades and Dans

Splash
Big Thunder
Astro Orbiter
Little Mermaid
Haunted Mansion
splash again

we didn’t wait for anything! And stopped for plenty of snacks and drinks. Low crowds, only wish the night was a little longer!!

Based on watching livestreams, it seems like it would make more sense to condense the cavalcades into a couple of mini parades - it seemed like people were wasting precious minutes waiting between the cavalcades! The crowds during Happily Ever After immediately before Boo Bash started looked very dense… At the party, people were just sitting around next to each other for over an hour rather than what probably could have been a 10 minute thing plus a bit of waiting. Maybe Disney wants to avoid people crowding, but they let guests do it for fireworks… Don’t mind me, just getting anxious about my game plan for my turn to go in October!

i would love to see enhancements on the attractions like they began to do the last few runs of party events. like on pirates they did a cute something, etc. Those should be brought back because it's easy enuf to do....

It's me again! Didn't see a dedicated Boo Bash thread, so sorry if this is in the wrong place. I have a strategy question for you experts. My daughter is not a fireworks fan, but she understands that we will be there during fireworks on BB night (no WAY am I missing precious time by not arriving until 9!). Wondering about the best location for her to be out of the big crowd and noise (she'll wear her noise cancelling headphones, too), but where I can maybe see just a little (selfish, I know, but we'll be there in mid-october, and I want to see the anniversary show soooo badly). I was wondering about riding People Mover during the show?? Hanging out in Adventureland? Thanks, as always, for your collective wisdom!

I personally am not going to sit around for them. I watched them on live streams last night, so if I see them live at the event I’ll stand to watch as they pass, but by no means will I just stand around and wait. I’ll ride rides, eat, get candy, and maybe cross paths with them. It’s what I did with the Maleficent dragon for the VAH event too (obviously minus the candy lol), and it worked. I have a feeling people stood around yesterday because it was vlogger heavy though, they tend to want to capture that stuff rather than ride rides.

Could you maybe begin the trick or treat trail furthest back in the park so you'll be in and out of locations but can still catch glimpses of the fireworks as you enter and leave?
I think people mover is also a great choice as you'll have some lovely views of the castle plus within your own ride "carriage".
The other one is maybe splash mountain as you'll see the fireworks at the top of the drop 😊

We had a great time. We found every ride to be a walk on except Mine Train - we waited close to 25 minutes at 1030. We never waited more than a minute or so for snacks and most lines we were able to walk up with no wait. We rode just about everything and felt it was everything that was promised. We stayed until the end and left exhausted. Our family had a blast!

Any reports on FP line use or consistency? I’ve seen spotty reports party guests get FP line access before the party begins but hard to gauge if it’s wide spread or not.

I'm seeing quite a few people who attended saying on SM they were told by CM's they could use FP between 7-9:30 pm. Great for people attending the after-hours event. If that continues to be the case, I will avoid moving an MK park day to a Boo Bash day thinking there will be fewer people that day. Unless we plan on leaving by 6:30!

Kenny the Pirate post this last week, but I've never seen it corroborated, "Event guests with wristbands will be allowed to use the Fastpass line to enter an attraction 30 minutes before park closing! ... This will ensure all Regular Admission Guests are out of the attractions by the time the event starts. Be sure to ask a Cast Member if you need assistance."

The only first-hand report here said that AH attendees were allowed in the FP line at 9pm as they continued to work through day guests in the Standby line, but the Standby line took precedent. That would seem similar to the above.

Seems to me Disney would have more than just a few angry non-party guests if they were told they could not enter rides up until regular closing times. They may not have paid for the after hours event, but that event should not diminish the day folk's experience.
