Is Flight of Passage really worth the wait?

When I look at the YouTube videos of it, it seems kinda neat. I think it is in 3D right? Or some kind of VR? Is it one of your must-do's? I wonder if the hour + wait time is worth it since there are no fastpasses right now. Do you always go there first thing in the morning?

Short answer: yes.

Long answer: It's definitely worth an hour long wait for us. Once the wait is over an hour, I skip it. But that goes for every ride, not just FoP. If the wait is consistently over an hour all day and night and I really really want to ride it (which is always), I just get in line right at park close so my wait time is entirely outside the normal park hours. I'm always happy to wait in a longer line when I know there is literally nothing else I could do except go home.

Yes it’s worth it. In June we had just one animal kingdom day. Did at rope drop and did again later in the day. Great ride. I do miss fast pass for it.

When you rope drop it is it pretty certain you won't be waiting an hour to get on?

My wife and I want to do a morning at AK, but just want to rope drop FOP, then run to Navi River, then go to Dinosaur and Everest single rider, then done. Can that all be done in a couple hours you think?

Technically, these days rope drop is arriving an hour before opening. So if you arrive an hour before, you will get on with little wait and be able to do the other things within a couple of hours. I would skip Navi River though and just head to Everest or the Safari. The Navi river line builds quickly with everyone getting off of FOP. I feel like we wasted a good 45-60 minutes with that experience when we could have been doing lower wait rides in the other areas of the park.

Cool thanks!

we arrived at 715am. We walked straight back and didn’t stop walking until we got to the ramp that separated us into the levels. Was great. After that waited 5 mins for navi river.

No. But mostly because it makes me violently ill. I want to love it, but I can't. DH likes it, but it isn't worth waiting more than 45 min.

I don’t like to wait longer than 45 minutes for any ride but I would wait 90 minutes for Flight of Passage. People have been posting waits have been shorter than what is posted on the app.

Yes - we definitely think it's worth it! That being said we've never ridden it without rope-dropping or using FP (when it was around). I would still wait an hour for it though - one of the few rides I would be willing to wait that long for!

For most people, I would say yes under 60 minutes. The only two reason I see people not liking it are: motion sickness, or a bad back.

You're locked-in forward like you are on a motorcycle, which may irritate any lower back pain. I actually do have lower back issues, but FOP doesn't bother me. Dinosaur on the other hand...

What does get me is motion sickness. This is the only ride (short of Mission Space Orange) that makes me feel motion sick. The screen always looks out-of-focus and blurry and it makes my motion sickness worse.

It really is just personal preference. I'm not a huge fan of sitting on something and watching a screen. That's what it is, albeit a good one. I wouldn't wait for it at all. No FP, no ride for me. It's just not the kind of ride I like and on this one, it really is important to be seated near the center, otherwise you can see the other rows and the screen is distorted.

Absolutely! We went before park close one night last week and only waited about 55 minutes! I loved it more than I remember. It was totally worth the wait!

We sat in seats 2,3,4, and 5 and didn’t find the screen distorted at all.

I rode it once back in 2018 with a FP. At first I couldn’t get a FP and kept looking and scored onfor 2pm.

I will be there next Monday and will RD and wait as long as necessary. It is the best ride in WDW. Now, I have not ridden ROTR yet! But it a must do for me this year.

I was at WDW this past November but only visited MK and Epcot.

🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻😎

I was a little dizzy too but nothing like MS that did me in for 5 hours of nausea! I will definitely give it another go next Monday.😎🤞🏻👍🏻

We waited 65 minutes last month. First time we had ever ridden it without a fastpass. In my opinion, it is the best ride at Disney. And it was still worth the wait.

But Disney is really pushing the limits. No 3-5 minute ride is worth a 90 minute wait— especially when park hours are short and prices are steep, so you can only get in a few experiences for your money.

Yes. It is mind blowing. We accidentally waited 2+ hours on a recent trip (wait time was much shorter, ride went down - we were committed at that point) and we STILL thought it was worth it and we are 100% not line waiting people. That said, if we didn't go to the parks frequently we wouldn't ever sign up for that long of a wait for *any* ride. But just to say it didn't disappoint, and never does.

After having ridden it quite a few times and looking back, I would easily wait 2+ hours for that first ride again. The subsequent rides have been absolutely fantastic, but that first time was truly magical. Pretty sure that is the only ride that I've actually cried happy tears after riding. As a re-ride, I likely wouldn't wait more than an hour. But yes, it is absolutely worth the wait, even more so for that first time.
