Some updated 50th Anniversary info - extended hours, etc.

Hmmm...extra evening hours for deluxe resort guests and DVC only.

In addition, with the kickoff of the 50th anniversary, guests staying at one of our Disney Deluxe or Deluxe Villa Resort hotels will also be able to enjoy extended evening hours on select nights in select theme parks.

I wonder how long that deal will last! Hopefully until my March trip!

Wow. Is that equivalent to an after hours event in terms of number of people? That might be worth a split stay with just one night at deluxe.

I wish they would do this based on the dollar value of your trip. My 10 day stay for a family of 5 at AOA costs way more that a couple staying at GF for two nights.

So it sounds like for early entry, you need a park reservation, but not for the extended evening hours (since hopping is allowed after 2 PM). Am I reading that right? I had just talked myself out of adding park hopper, so this changes a lot.

that's how I read it too

Not exactly. Sounded to me like you must have a reservation for the evening park OR a park hopper & tap into tour first park before getting into the extra hours.

“Please note that guests will need a valid ticket or pass and a theme park reservation for the same park on the same day to experience extended evening hours. Or, guests may visit with a ticket or Annual Pass with the Park Hopper option as long as they entered their first park where they made their reservation earlier in the day.”

I agree - sounds like either A) You have an active ticket AND a reservation at the park with extended hours for that day or B) You have a valid park hopper and 'checked in' at your original reservation park (this is how it works today in order to be eligible for park hopper - i.e., if I had a park hopper ticket and a same day reservation for MK, Id have to tap in at MK before i could hop to any other park later in the day)

I agree with you - I'm reading that you either need a hopper pass, OR your park reservation for that morning must be the same as the park with extended hours.
