The ABC's of a BSN Celebration! Trip Wrap up; Final Thoughts (7/11)

Animal Kingdom seems to have been made for photography and I personally love to soak up every minute just wandering around capturing whatever grabs my attention as I saunter along.

I have to agree there. It does have amazing views all over.

Did you know the park was intentionally designed to encourage the guests to wander with no set path or intentional route?

Well, yes, I did.

(I have the same book) :rotfl2:

Gorgeous shot there. That looks like it could actually be in Asia.

Okay, Everyone, time for a little game. I don't *think* it will be that hard for the frequent visitors, but if you can tell me where I am.... it'll be a little prelude to the next chapter.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand GO!! BUT... add spoiler please!! Let's not make it too easy!! ;)

I don't need to insert a spoiler since I haven't been to Disney in a while so I will just say you were at Disneyworld in Florida. :duck::tiptoe:
Pirates of the Caribbean

Harambe market?

Did you know the park was intentionally designed to encourage the guests to wander with no set path or intentional route?

Nope. I don't have the book that you and Mark do....

Here is a gallery of walkabout favorites from the 3 separate days I found myself completely dissociated from the world of workaday cares and worries.

Very nice shots there!

Yep, that's all I got for ya. Time's short, I'm behind on all the threads I'm subbed into.

Well that really was short and sweet!

I’m a start packing for my big move

The one to move into your parent's house? I thought that was in September.

Well, allow me to give you a quick primer, just to get you started on recognizing names and faces.

:lmao: Nice one!

Okay, Everyone, time for a little game. I don't *think* it will be that hard for the frequent visitors, but if you can tell me where I am

I'm guessing you're in that room (I think it's on the guerilla trail), the one where the Naked Mole Rats are.

R is for: Recruits, Rise and Resist!
(Unwatermarked photos taken by Mik)

Pssst… hey you. Yeah, you! We need you; I’ve been watching you, and you seem like the right recruit for the job. Do you hear the melodic call to action? The lone piper beckons you with a tune on his flute that seems to say, “Flight Crews are Needed”. Will you follow? Will you stay true to the cause? It’s time to choose a side; there can be no middle ground and your allegiance will be tested, as will your skill.

Don’t worry! You’ll receive plenty of training and encouragement along the way. But our side also has plenty of time to build camaraderie with good-hearted heckling. If you suck at piloting, your crewmates will surely let you know! In training missions that is. When it comes to lending aid to the cause, it’s taken very seriously and there will be danger, excitement, and…reward along the way. It’s up to you, Recruit; you can make a difference in securing peace and prosperity for eons to come with your skill, intellect, and resolve. Some of us will be interpreters, some will be engineers, others of us are in supply acquisition, or will specialize in intelligence gathering, but all of us should at least know how to play our part in covert operations that involve flying the Falcon.

First let's cover some spacecraft anatomy:

And language lessons:

("Caution")

Okay, let’s make our way in for your initiation into our community of freedom fighters. Don’t worry, you’ll have lots of help and support along the way. Even the birds and a giant sasquatch are here to aid you.

UP! LEFT! NO, DOWN, You Moron!

I AM!! <crash> You're the one who can't fly! Go UP, I said!

You’re going to kill us, Go Right!

WHOOP, WHOOP, we got it…. Now, let’s go grab another one! I think we’ve got it now….easy on the stick. Eeeeeasy… Yes, that's it, nice and light.

RIGHT ON!! That 2nd coaxium. That’s how it’s done. The Mother-Daughter Team finds themselves as resident flight crew trainers, (expert level), you’ve got some flight hours, and Hondo is a bit richer. You’re welcome any time for a refresher; he’d love another commission.

Now that we’ve got you trained for performing support missions, time for a nice cool drink!

Disappointed it’s not a boozy one? Well, then saddle up, there may be more adventures for you ahead, Dear Recruit, with ample rewards when done. If you survive. I know of a secret base and our friends need our help. Follow me!!

There’s some interesting scenery along the way so please take some time to acquaint yourselves with your surroundings and get your bearings. The Cause may need to rely on your knowing where you are at some point.

Continued in next post...

Quick!! Duck in here!! Behind the backside of water- that should conceal us well, and the winding caves can offer us some cool shelter out of the blistering Batuu Sun.

It’s a place that’s stocked well with extra flight gear, rations, cast off supplies, and hot sweaty recruits eager for adventure. Rookie, if you need a place to hide out and re-group, this is it! See? The Cause has been using this hideaway for millennia as exhibited by this recent archaeological dig.

(Did the location of this surprise you?)

Steady, yourselves, things could get a little dicey in here. Look sharp and for goodness sake, whatever you do, don’t give away the base’s location!!! Geez, ya wanna get us all killed?! Don’t worry, clear directions will be given along the way, and you’ll be in good hands, and….appendages. And tentacles.

Good luck, Recruit, you’re gonna need it; may your engines be stout, your droids be quick, and your luck be better than average!

Uh oh, looks like we've run into to some trouble....Steady on...

Boy howdy, that was fantastic work, my friend! You narrowly escaped almost certain death. To be squished under the foot of an At-At would have been most unfortunate. We’d have lost a valuable asset and Disney would have lost a few thousand dollars from that T-shirt you would have bought. And the car warranty folks would still know where to find you.

(He still finds a way to sell car warranties)

NOW, it’s time for that well-earned celebratory drink, and this time you deserve the very best Oga’s can pour. Let's head to the Black Spire Outpost. Will it be the Fuzzy Tauntaun? A Jet Juice? The Outer Rim? Whatever you choose, let’s raise a toast to the Resistance! “Ignite the Spark, and Light the Fire!”

It truly is a park that comes alive when you actually stop and look around. The vibe is unlike any other. Nice photos!

Oh, and howdy!
Well, bust my buttons!! Looky here!!

How are you, Matt? So great to see you here. I am thrilled you found me and said hi!

There really is so much to see there and the more you slow down, the more there is. Pop in more often, Friend!!

It really does. It's amazing how it took a bit to "grow into itself", I mean it was quite a while actually, but now that everything is grown up it all seems to have beautifully come together.

Well, yes, I did.

(I have the same book) :rotfl2:

Sadly, I lost my other 3. I will say, I DO wish they'd put out an update volume set. So much has changed since I bought them in 2010.

I liked it for the change up of the more typical vantage. :)

Pirates of the Caribbean
That was a great guess tbh! I think it is a little bit of storytelling that could fit in quite a few places in WDW.

This is easy. My Dad's backyard. He's got so much crap back there, that I'm sure this is that.

Oh, okay...

Tough one. I don't recognize it. Maharaja trail?
:lmao:

That too, was an excellent guess, but I imagine you might have been picturing the drinking fountain area after the tiger. ?? Which makes sense.

Nope. I don't have the book that you and Mark do....

I lost the other 3 from my set. They are VERY worth reading and offer the greatest insights into the parks and their design elements. For me, it super helps to bring context and story to what I'm seeing. That way, it's easier to fill in the details with the props, paints, pictures, etc.... LOVE it!!!

Well that really was short and sweet!

Once in a while, I get extraordinarily lazy.

The one to move into your parent's house? I thought that was in September.

Yes, and yes, it is. I'll be leaving Salem Sept 7th but not arriving til around the 23rd or so. Epic roadtrip coming up. But, I have sooooooo few days off (really only Sundays and sometimes not even that) I have to do my packing little by little. Sadly, I'll be living in a sea of boxes for the next 3 months.

:lmao: Nice one!

Always the jokester. :)

I'm guessing you're in that room (I think it's on the guerilla trail), the one where the Naked Mole Rats are.

Everyone guessed AK, which made sense, but nope!! I think the answer will surprise you! And now you have a mission.... does the DLR version have this?

I am nifty! Hope all is well in your world.

Great ROTR photos! I love that attraction! I was there right before the COVID shutdown. Wound up at the park at 5:30 AM. Got a good boarding group but then it went down for 6 hours. I managed to board on one of the final groups of the day. Such a cool experience!
