Here they are doing hybrid (2 in person days per week) plus all remote if chosen. Huge school system and so far more than half are choosing to stay remote. Buses will run at max 1/3 capacity. They go to that system in April.

There is/was extreme parental pressure on some of the school systems around here. Parents demonstrating and all that. But not on the one local to me. Some areas of Maryland have been back in the classroom in the more rural areas for some time now.
Yep, my county is back FT except Wed which is their cleaning day. I know some of the affluent counties the parents are up in arms and then they were upset that the student board member got to vote on the reopening in the fall, even though he represents the students. It’s just crazy.

It seems like the longer the systems waited to reopen, the less the kids wanted to go back. They've had a taste of freedom and they love it. September will be interesting.
I was on hold with Universal for 3 hours! I was only going to inquire on the price of premium seating at VB but I was on hold for so long that I ended up just booking 2 days of premium seating, I’ll call back to cancel one of the days closer to our trip.

And my DD was so bummed when she went back to in person school. She really enjoyed the freedom of sleeping in until 9am and being done with assignments in 5-6 hours instead of 7 + homework.

Well, I'd love to get them into churning or at least getting multiple cards, but it's a hard no. The most they can hope for is one card, put all spend on it, use the travel portal for offsite hotel. I haven't even been able to talk them into CSR. Even $1000 off is better than they have now, which is cash for everything.
I have tried to explain how I have free flights, free hotel and free tix for 8 nights with 5 park days. They just feel having more credit cards is risky and even if their credit score is fine, identity theft is too risky with so many cards. At this point, I've been trying to convince them for 4 years. Maybe once they see what one card can do, they will be more open, especially since this time they asked me.
Honestly some people are best off with a straight 2% cashback on all purchases card and your friends sound like that would be more their style. I have a friend like that, she’s got Fidelity’s 2% and is happy as clam. No travel portal hassles, no AF, no points to hassle with. Less money but less stress.

I’ve been seeing negative DPs about matching too.

If you’re nervous about eyes on your account, I’d suggest waiting to see if things change before SMing for a match.

My brother had a weird thing. He was approved on March 1 for CSP. He sent SM asking to be matched to the 80k offer and he got a response that he’s already signed up for the 80k offer. But his tracker in the app clearly shows 60k. Very odd.

I told him to wait and see what posts once he meets the spend and if 80k doesn’t post, he can follow up. He took a screen shot of the SM saying his account already has the 80k offer associated.

After 4.5 hours on hold, I am booked! No second seating dining (on the waitlist) but got the room I wanted (a slightly bigger 9C) and got my onboard booking discount applied. Not getting excited until I arrive in Rome and see the Magic though.
Wait, which one did you book? I thought you were headed to AK.

I’ve been reading all these posts about sore arms from the covid vaccine - has anyone had the Johnson & Johnson single dose vaccine? I’m scheduled to get it this afternoon and I’m wondering if the effects are similar to the others.

A couple of coworkers (I'm a teacher) got the J&J shot and were knocked out by side effects for a couple of days. Chills, fever, and body aches.

I downgraded my current CSP to Freedom Unlimited today. I also reduced the limits on about 4 of my Chase Cards. Now just waiting (and hoping) that referrals become available for the 80,000 offer (they did last time). Then will do MDD for that and CSR.

I got hooked on the idea of churning about getting a 100K sign up bonus on a Marriott Bonvoy card and then putting all of my spend on it for a couple of years resulting in over 300K points, and that includes using a few free nights. Now that my eyes have been opened, I want more! LOL! Before the Bonvoy card, we were pretty anti-credit card around here. I was scared of ruining my credit and getting into lots of debt.

By the way, how do you get your Disney tickets for free? Are you cashing out bonuses?

My 5/18, 5/28, & 6/5 SW flights are available for free change.
Thank you for posting! I was able to save about 27k RR's for our 6/4 outbound flight to MCO! Now hoping for the 6/13 return flight to become available, although most likely will only save about 6k RR's.

My elementary kiddos have been in person school this whole school year, and our district's MS and HS are going back full time in the next week ( they'vebeen hybrid). It's so nice to have things going back to normal (somewhat)!

I'm not the OP but thought I'd share we were able to get Disney tix by using Citi Thank You points. My DH and I both got the citi premier cards and I was able to get 1 adult and 2 child 7 day PH tickets for all of our points, plus approx. $120. The bonus where Citi points are worth 25% more ends in early April though.
