Virginia is really opening up. Maryland is not.

I got invites for appts in Maryland within a few days of getting my vaccine - which I crossed the bridge to get. The amount of availability is being snapped up faster now, and as categories change, hopefully supplies will increase substantially.

I've been watching the CVS site for Maryland and occasionally I'll see an opening usually over near the West Virginia border. I haven't followed the other pharmacies. The whole Northeast Corridor seems to be like that. The good thing about this is that people are willing to get the shot in these areas.

My two minute hold time with Costco has now turned into over two hours and I have yet to speak with an agent. I’m sure they’re short staffed. Time to go outside and do yard work while I hold. I need to go to the office later today. Hope this cruise is booked by then. 🤪

I was able to get mine today in MD at Giant. And I hear Kaiser has them since my friend from work went there today. My federal agency just gave us letters we can take the site. The MD site said it would be open to everyone by 5/1 and they just lowered to age 60. We are getting there.

@gottalovepluto, I got the wrong done. I am lefty but the seating is setup for the left arm so I just went with it. So far, so good but I’ll remember for the 2nd dose in April.

I'm having vaccine envy. We are so far behind here (Canada in general, Toronto even more so than any other region). Hopefully I'll have my first shot by July 1st. Dh was able to get his due to a very small window of opportunity that opened up for the AZ vaccine, which has now closed. He will get his second shot in 11 weeks. We are still pretty much closed in the city. I'm "region jumping" on Wednesday to get highlights and a haircut.

Is anyone booking a cruise today? I have a cancelled cruise from August 2020 that I will be moving to the September 4, 2022 Norwegian fjords cruise. Our last cruise was the Alaska cruise in 2019 and was such an amazing family trip, so hoping my daughter and her husband and perhaps our adult son can join us again. Costco is my travel agent holding this cruise and they don't open until 7am pacific time. The opening day rates for this cruise are actually "affordable". Maybe because its the shoulder season. Best date for us since DH's business is busiest in the summer so its hard to plan vacations then.
Tomorrow because we're only Gold. And someone else recommended booking it on the website and transferring to Costco--but that shouldn't be such an issue if you're Platinum.

I'm stumped because we had a FCC from a canceled cruise and I know I can apply it to the new cruise, but it doesn't seem to be associated with my OBB discount.
I'm waiting to hear back from my TA on our second choice for rooms. We're platinum and are hoping to book the June 18th 9-night Rome/Croatia/Greek Isles cruise. I say second choice because we were planning to do concierge for this one.

I received an email from our dreams TA right at 3 am with the prices. I know I shouldn't be stunned by DCL pricing, but I did a serious double take. I had figured about $10k less on each. I *think* this is for 3 Adults: concierge family just under $30k and concierge 1-bedroom just over $41k.

I would verify the prices, but my castaway club number is messed up on my online account so I can't see the online prices right now.

We're planning to do two rooms instead and keep an eye on the concierge prices. They seem very aggressive to me. I know people will still book them, and that there is tons of pent up demand, but I suspect that when all the cruise rules/restrictions are finally released, there will be some reshuffling. I also didn't want to have my deposit nonrefundable without assurance that vaccinations will be required for over 16/18s.

This is the cruise I plan on booking tomorrow. We are looking at 9C. I see a 2a2c 5B reservation for <$15k (no OBB) so I think I should be fine (hoping it's < $11K).

Apparently Maryland has the lowest vaccine rejection rate. I can't remember where I heard that.

We did enjoy Oahu and we saw a lot of the island but if we were to go back, we would try different islands. With a 1% negativity rate and requiring negative tests, I will say we were disappointed with the limited options. The pool bar at HVV is closed since bars aren’t allowed to be open, 2 of the waterfalls are closed, lots of places doing carry out only. We did have two delicious steak dinners at The Signature in Ala Moana Hotel and BLT in Trump’s hotel. I had noted that it was DS’s birthday and both provided free dessert for him.

if you want to go on the Pearl Harbor Memorial boat ride, you need to get tickets in advance. I tried to get them in the 3 pm day before drop and there must have bots getting there because they went in seconds. We did enjoy Pearl Harbor and especially the Missouri even without the boat ride.

We are used to the FL and Caribbean beaches and we were surprised by how rough the sand and ocean bottom were.

We leave soon for 6 days in Maui followed by 2 in Oahu, and have been running into similar issues. So many things require a reservation and have really limited capacities, such as securing reservations for parks at specific times, etc.

I am hopeful we can secure Pearl Harbor tickets 7 days in advance, and then fall back to 24 hours if not successful. Thanks for the hint that it was still a good experience without the USS Arizona Memorial.

I am having an incredibly hard time securing one of the 50 available slots for Haleakala sunrise. There has been mention of bots as well on the recreation.gov site. If anyone has been successful, please let me know your tips and tricks.

DH, DS (16) and I all got our first dose of the Pfizer vaccine on Saturday. Other than a bit of soreness in the arm that got the shot that kicked in pretty soon after getting the shot and lasted for about 24/36 hours and maybe feeling a little more tired than usual, no side effects for us. We got our vaccines at a clinic at my company headquarters. My company is also a pharmacy provider for the vaccines.

I just got my cruise booked with Costco! Got through to them after a three hour hold but on the positive side, they are able to book your cruise through their travel agent site instead of having to call DCL using your castaway cay number and your previous cruise information if you have a canceled cruise and you’re booked already through Costco. You have to be Platinum to book today. Definitely worth the time and aggravation. My Costco Cash card will be $425 so definitely worth three hours of phone time. My overall cruise price was $5492 for three people in a secret porthole room for the Norwegian fjords cruise.😍

Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket today LOL. After searching constantly for the last couple weeks, I was just able to snag all of our October nights in a standard view, instead of a garden view! I really did not want to spend that many points, so I am thrilled. A one bedroom is still more than we need, but at least it's cheaper now.

Haleakala sunrise parking reservations used to be released 60 days in advance, but I see they’re now released 7 days in advance at 7 a.m. Hawaii Standard Time. HST is currently 3 hrs behind PDT and 6 hrs behind EDT.

It’s 8:13 a.m. in Hawaii as I’m posting this, and I see tickets for 3/29/21 (7 days from now), are already sold out. Seems they sell out quick so you need to be on your game. Be logged in to your recreation.gov account a few minutes before 7 a.m. local time, and if there are address and payment info you can pre-fill, do it to streamline your checkout process.

Hawaii is packed with spring breakers right now. Tourism is roaring back.

Good luck!
